For out of towners this tollway system is a scam!  You get stuck deciding when you are to go through a tollgate or not and if you miss it, you assume that like other states, which I guess are more technologically advanced or not trying to scam riders, that you will be sent an invoice to pay in a timely manner.  But NO!  Illinois says you missed it so pay a usurious fine of about 20 times the toll!! You've got to be kidding.  I'm not avoiding the toll, but I can't figure the system while in transit.  And when we tried to contact the toll authorities, since the sign says call within 7 days, they tell you they can't tell you anything.  You must tell them which toll booth you missed.....How would I know?!  And they won't let you pay online.  IL it's the 21st century!  I've no desire to return to that pit of a state.  Good luck to those that live there.
