I am a poor senior with no assets. My income totals $741 per month. I own nothing not even a car. I do not drive. I use a wheelchair out in public.
The Indiana department of family services has chosen to harass me and has sent me a letter regarding the discontinuation of my medicaid benefits even though I am qualified to receive medicaid.
The reason they gave: they said I failed to give them requested information on an bank account that was closed last year, 7/2013. They sent the request with the wrong account number (2882 instead of 3882).
I wonder if they are capable of reading and writing.
I always send out income verification to them via certified mail, at a great expense and trouble so there is no question. But there is still a question about my 'assets'. This is why I can only assume that this is intentional harassment.
Now I must go to my local FSSA office with all this info in order to kept the benefits I am entitled to.

Who else would care? For your information, and anyone who is reading this, this AGENCY gave me a deadline to give them the requested info, but before I could get it to them, they shut down my medicaid 1 week before the deadline. This was an illegal act!! I had to go to the mid west regional office to get them to stop sending me the illegal requests, and to get them to reopen my medicaid.
As for being poor, I have only a pay as you go interenet service and I use my son's computer.(you are a very stupid person to say something like that, stupid and evil).
I receive only $449 in retirement pension plus $292 in SSI for the elderly poor.
They were trying to force me to go downtown to file an appeal, WHICH I WILL NOT. I will allow this agency to be in violation of the law first!!! Which they have been.
As you already know, the ACLU, has already had a class action lawuit against Indiana Social Services for trying to cut off medicaid to a handicapped person IN VIOLATION OF FEDERAL LAW.

What is the reason you only receive $741.00 per month? Is this Social Security? As for your claim of "harassment", I can only make a guess that this is not harassment but asking for information needed for your case. If you are a poor senior as you stated then you must qualify for Medicare. Yet you have access to the internet so how can you play poor me when you obviously have money to spend on internet services? I am a student, working part time and never qualified for Medicaid because I have no children.
Therefore after working since I was a child, paying taxes (property, school etc) I don't understand the reason you think you are getting "benefits I am entitled to" - what makes you think you are entitled to these benefits?
