Inn of the Mountain Gods Boat Rental Boat Rental Mescalaro New Mexico

We goto the Inn of the Mountain Gods all the time and it is very beautiful.  However, this last time we decided to rent boats on the lake, something we do all the time.  However, since I had two young kids who could not use the paddle boats, I had to rent the row boats.  I wanted to use the motor, but was told that none was available at the time so I decided to use the oars.  The problem is that the row boats were missing oar locks or paddle clips which with the above average wind made it very difficult to row the boat.  As a result, I ended the rental after about 20 minutes of riding.  After getting to the boat dock I was offered a motor that was "supposedly" unavailable earlier.  In the past I have had no problems with the paddle boats, but becuase the row boats were missing oar locks/paddle clips I tried to get a refund.  The sign clearly states no refunds due to weather, but a refund maybe given for equipment failure.  In my opinion this would be classified as equipment failure.  However, I offered to pay the extra money for the motor, but because it was late in the day this was no longer an option.  Fine if you cannot give me a refund then explain to me why or offer me a credit that I could used the next time especially when I offered to pay the extra money for the motor.  The customer service was awful probably some of the worse I have ever seen.  I understand that the Inn of the Mountain Gods probably gets hundreds of visitors a day and one customer compliant probably will not change anything because they still have a really good reputation, but I have read  several reviews that indicate that the customer service needs to be fixed.
