I live in Fort Collins, Colorado and on the night of August 19th, two young people ( a male and female) knocked on our door. The young girl claimed that she was selling magazine subscriptions in order to raise funds for her team's soccer trip to London. She said that her family lived on a neighboring street and that her father was a professor at Colorado State University.

I didn't have a lot of money, but she sure was pushy, claiming that her male partner would come mow our grass or do yardwork in return for a subsription purchase. She said all she needed was one more subscription and she would earn enough to go to London.

I wrote a check for $44, for a two year subscription to Glamour. I thought the amount was high, but since it went to a good cause, I was inclined to help. However, I was a bit leary about how pushy she was.

I did a little research on the company I wrote the check to "Integrity Program, LLC" (assumed to be the same as Integrity Sales) and found all these complaints. Having seen this, I placed a stop payment on that check and closed that account for fear of them having access to my account number.

What was funny is that I was approached a few weeks earlier by two young men while leaving the house. They claimed that they were selling magazine subscriptions for a trip to Cancun (no educational experience, just a fun trip). I brushed them off and told them that I would love to go to Cancun, but didn't have the money and they certainly weren't going to get my hard earned dollars for a fun trip. They started getting pushy and asking for a drink of water and I said no. To this they stomped off, yelling "thanks for the help b****!". I was inclined to call the cops but was on my way to an appointment I was already late for.

I assumed these too men were operating with the same company as the young couple I did give a check to. It's such a shame that this company is preying on innocent young people by making them decieve and manipulate people. What a way to learn. I'm glad I caught my mistake before they cashed the check.

I worked there for almost a year, and as far as i know people do get SOME of the magazines and books that they ordered. I will admit that the agents lie and use fraduelent ways to sell the subscriptions, but you have to see it from our point of view... In the mag crew life, numbers are all that matter. you could come in with two sales that day and you might have worked your butt of all day for those two, but your manager would make you feel so bad. When you come in with twenty... you get praise, despite what you had to say to get the orders.

I will admit that i also used lies to get orders, and wrote REALLY good business, but being a girl, you hate to hear self destructive things. With no business, these kids feel low, useless and worthless, and its all thanks to the managers. Ive seen kids get beaten up badly for not havung enough sales. kids that want to go home and are stranded in strange towns, and those who do actually make the thousands of dollars a month, get ripped off. (that happened to me and my boyfriend) After we decided to leave(we are due to have a baby in sept.) all of our orders suspiciously cancelled out of the three days notice. Meaning that the company gets to keep the forty eight or fifty dollars for the mag, they also charge Us ten to fifteen dollars a piece, and when you have a hundred orders cancel, all the money we had saved on our books for the baby, was gone and we owe the company 1500 $. *&*& RIGHT???

Personally I dont miss that lifestyle, on the bright side, I got to travel, see most of the US in a way that a lot of others cant say they have. I met the love of my life, made a lot of friends, and met some of the COOLEST people along the way, not to mention, door to door sales expierence is a good thing to have on a resume! But now that i am home, i remember what its like to have simple freedoms such as going to bed when i want, only working forty hours a week, and actually SEEING the money that i work hard for. i get to see my family and dont have to have sales to get common respect and decency from my managers and co workers. it was a fun expierence, but in the longrun, i regret all of the people have i lied to, cheated and took money from. I do not feel good about it, and if i could, i would knock all those doors over again to apologize. espacially to a certain family in Petaluma CA. (you know who you are!) please let me know if i can be any assistance in stopping these people.

I am one ex crew member

AUTHOR: Courtni - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, March 16, 2007

Sherry- I wanted to let you know I worked with Robert. I even met you. I am as well working to stop them from coming into my town, as well as my state.

The way a mag crew works is they put numbers in paper as well as word of mouth. Once you get there things seem to be fine, and they hand out money for what you need. Then bam, your stuck inside this world, with no money to get out. At least thats what happened to me. I wish i could go back in time and just turned down the job offer, but the would have meant that my husband and I would have been homeless 3000 miles away from home. That was my mistake. Since I have let, I and my husband, have been able to both get good jobs, which they said we would not be able too. I stay awake at night hoping that if i ever run into someone I sold to, that they can forgive me for the trust i robbed from them. If there is any way for someone to get into contact with me about home to stop them (cops here dont really care) or need help with questions for a lawsuit. please reply back for me. I will do anything in my power to help.

They have been doing this for years....

AUTHOR: Sherry - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 27, 2007

This "mag crew" has been around for at least 18 years that I know of. It is sad how they get these young kids to do this( 18-24 year olds) My sons father ROBERT MATTHEWS worked on the crew many years ago and I just found out that he recently went back to work for them as a car handler. His boss JOHN TORQUE and Johns wife MS. DIANE run some of these crews. In order to have your own crew you must BUY your numbers , $10,000 and a vote by some of the top dogs will get you your numbers. Scam inside of a scam..They never let the young people know the next city they are going to hit...they travel with box trucks that say INTEGRITY SALES on the side of them also Econoline vans the top dog drives a white Bently and another dives a green Cadiliac. They stay in motels for a week at a time in that city, then on the weekend they "jump" to the next city...no I have never worked for these people but my sons father likes to talk and I like to listen....I am currently looking in to what I need to do in my own area to keep these people away from my neighbors and good people of my community. Any thoughts please leave a comment I will check here frequently....we should all stand together on this ! There is power in numbers.....

Had you have seen sales people weeks earlier, it could not have been the same company. There are more than one magazine sales group.
