I joined InteleTravel in 2009 as a way to help friends with travel and to offset my own traveling expenses.  I received my Travel Agent ID Card but it was not a full year. I  renewed and the next years membership ended in May 2010.  Having compared the discounts to what was available online I declined to renew beyond the end of May 31, 2010. Internet prices were cheaper and I could not in good conscious encourage my friends and family to consider InteleTravel knowing they could reduce their travel cost by hundreds of dollars elsewhere.  I did not complete information nor submit a picture for the following years' membership ID card and I thought not renewing and submitting the required fee to complete the ID card I was done with InteleTravel.  I just recently discovered they had continued to charge my credit card and when I called to complain they stated I had not told them I wanted out.  Not only had I not submitted renewal information, I had not paid to have the current year ID card and I hadn't received any information from them so in my opinion-I was no longer a member of the group.  This company egregiously and with malice continue to charge my credit card knowing that the required sign up procedure had not been completed by me and only when the card number was changed did they contact me to say hey, we can't access the card, something they should not have been doing because they did not have written consent.  I want the fees returned to me from June 2010 to the present.  I am contacting all the necessary government agencies I can because I a sure they have done this before.  Im hoping the State Attorney Generalss Office in Florida looks into their practices as well as the FTC Bureau of Consumer Protection.

We Have Done Our Best To Answer & Satsify This Customer

AUTHOR: InteleTravel.com Customer Service - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, July 08, 2014

We are stumped at the most recent response from this customer (To respond to one of her comments, we consider ALL our agents and travelers "customers".) So we ask that you refer to our original response below, which still stands. What also still stands is our A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and the fact that there are no other reports like hers about InteleTravel, despite a 22 year history and over half a million agents having enjoyed our services and opportunity to sell travel from home. This may be a rare instance of just not being able to please someone, which we regret, and we apparently just have to agree to disagree on this. Please visit www.InteleTravel.com and see for yourself what we do and how we treat our customers.

Never contacted by BBB

AUTHOR: Rhonda - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, April 24, 2013

We offered to compromise, but the customer did respond to the BBB representative, as she did not update this report with what actually happened.

Customer, which I was not, I was an agent so that is inaccurate, did not respond to BBB because I was never contacted by them. So in light of that information I consider this response suspect to elevate Intele's position. In my experience the BBB normally doesn't wait a year to respond to complaints. I submitted a complaint in 2010 so that is another suspect aspect of this response. Considering my complaint that Intel acted in my opinion unethically, this response doesn't surprise. People reading this don't be fooled by the lure of inexpensive travel. You can find much cheaper travel rates using online travel search sites. Also, the fact that they continued to charge monthly fees to my credit card without any written permission or without my applying for a updated picture agent ID card which has an expiration dates on it speaks volumes for how they run this business. NEVER RECEIVED AN UPDATED ID CARD. NEVER APPLIED FOR ONE.  MEMBERSHIP WAS NOT AUTOMATIC.  Does it makes sense I would try and use a picture agent ID card in any situation which I would have to show identification and membership status with an expired card?  NO!  Intele will rip you off if given the opportunity.

The claim described above was adjudicated and settled in InteleTravel.com's favor through the Better Business Bureau, where InteleTravel.com, the Original Travel Agency at Home, now celebrating our 21st year in business, maintains an A+ rating. The customer's report includes many misunderstandings. As explained to the BBB she signed a contract which obligates her to pay only a very nominal amount each month (less than $10) for very considerable services, and includes very simple instructions for cancelling at any time without further payments (just tell us!). But our relationship with our customers is not about being right, it is about taking care and providing satisfaction. We offered to compromise, but the customer did respond to the BBB representative, as she did not update this report with what actually happened. InteleTravel is proud of its long history and the fact that we still count many homebased independent travel agents in our network from our earliest days over 20 years ago. For about $150 a year, travel lovers like you tell us they receive thousands in easy income and savings from our unique program. The average length of time our agents stay in the program is now 6 years or more! Love Travel? Get Paid! It's a simple idea that allows you to earn commissions every time your family, friends - everyone you know! - travels. We are reputable company with excellent customer satisfaction. Please look into InteleTravel.com yourself.  Thank you.
