This is a new report, but actually an ongoing saga of previous reports.

I made the huge mistake of spending $950 USD on an Invicta Bolt Zeus. This was supposedly a 50 jewel swiss automatic movement, retail $3500, sale price $1750, but today on special for $950. I love the look of the watch and took the plunge. That was September of 2013. It came with a 5 year warranty but I'm finding out that warranty is useless. The chronograph hands quit working almost right away. I loved the watch so I agreed to send it in for repair, along with $28 USD for return postage. It took 3 1/2 months to get back to me. It was not repaired at all.

I went through a lot of trouble trying to reach Invicta but finally did. They sent a call tag and I sent it back in March of 2014. It came back June 1, 2013. Still the same problem. Not repaired at all and some things were worse. I won't get into all that here. I got a hold of them again and they agreed to send me a replacement watch. I sent it in and it came back July 1, 2014. It was the same watch and still unrepaired.

So, I called again. Another call tag and I was assured the they would "give me much satisfaction". Yes, much satisfaction. They said they would exchange it for a new watch. I sent it in again, 4th time in. It came back today, 7-24-14. Same watch. No exchange as promised. Same problems. Chronograph hands don't work. A couple new problems as well. They are not careful when handling your watch.

So I called yet again. This time when I finally got to be first in their que, I was transferred to voicemail. I called back and waited through the que and again got transferred to voicemail. I left a message but of course, no return call and I don't expect one.

I have now had this watch for 10 1/2 months and it has never worked. I don't know how to take legal action against a large corporation especially when I live 2000 miles from Hollywood, Florida. I'm going to call in again each day until I actually reach a human and see if I can get a manager on the line. I have a feeling I could send this watch in over and over for the full five year warranty and end up with a 5 year old $950 watch that has never worked. It has become quite obvious that this mass marketing company couldn't care less.

Like I say, I have no idea what to do. I've been scammed out of a grand and cannot do a thing about it.

If any of you are considering an Invicta purchase, gees I hope you get one that works because if it does not, you are simply out the money. My advice would be to not buy one of their watches or get a cheap one. That way you can simply toss it in the trash if it does not work. I think it's pretty hard to screw up a quartz movement so maybe stick with those. Invicta cannot seem to repair an automatic movement.

I've always been totally polite with them. Never got angry in our conversations. All I want is my watch to work or my money back. Seems like either one is now out of the question. I suppose I'll get more lies about replacing my watch and giving me "much satisfaction".

I'll keep trying. I'll get another call tag and send it back for the 5th time, then the 6th, then the 7th, etc.

update august 23 2014

AUTHOR: bbach - ()

POSTED: Saturday, August 23, 2014

This is not a rebuttal, it is an update.

Invicta finally agreed to allow me to exchange my "lemon" for a totally different model. I was told to go on Shop HQ and pic out my new Invicta. If it was more expensive than the one I sent back (many times), then I would pay the difference. I was happy to oblige to get this nightmare over.

I Watch I got is a Subaqua Noma V. It is $70 cheaper than the watch I bought originally, but it is a nice 25 jewel swiss automatic. Quite frankly, it is a wonderful watch. If it were not for the fact that Invicta is such a mass marketing company and does not have their eyes on quality and service, I would be very proud to wear this watch. It is really nice. After an 11 month nightmare, I have something that not only works, but is really nice to look at and perfect to wear.

So Invicta, hey, grow up. Quit with the questionable claims in your mass marketing campaigns and actually take care of your customers. You could actually be a good watch company. Maybe someday someone will buy this company out and develop it into a watch company that people would not have to be ashamed of doing business with. Until then I don't really like it when people ask to see the watch I'm wearing. It says Invicta on it and that is embarrassing.
