We are a profesional sub contracting Techincal company.

We are assigned on site technical support for vatious cpomanies via portals.

these portal contact us when  cpomany needs a qualitied, certified, experianced technitian or engineer to go repair or service something. I own the comany. We have been doing this since 1980. We have an impecable reputation for service. Our customers are guarantedd 100% satisfaction.

Last month we recieved an iYogi request to service a client out in the country.

She was an older lady anad they had atempoted to to remote into her pc Via her dsl anad install some software and assist her and durring the install it dropped out and they where unable to get back in. It frustrated the customer so they send out an on site technitian. By the time I arrived, the customer was Irate. She was ver upset by the amount of money they had charged her up front before even looking at her pc. Then they demanded another 180.00 before sending me out to fix what they messed up ( her words).

From what she said, before they started all of their "fiddling around" she had two computers and a printer all networked to her dsl modem wirelessly and was only have a few issues. Now, when I arrived, she had no internet, no intra net and could not use her printer from either copmuter or share files between devices. She could not even see devices on her network..

I had to reconfigure her modem, reconfigure the settings on both the laptop and the pc, re install the printer drivers on both copmuters, upgrade software on her new pc, install anto virus software, adobe PDF viewer to view the iYogi info and install the iYogi software again, even though initialy she told me to " get the yogi s@%$#@T off of my computers...

So, after I finished doing all of this, and tried to call in to close, they asked to speak with the customer.. I was forced to wait for almost 35 More minutes whilke they spoke with t he customer.. She agreed to close ALL her complaints and open cases against them and pay all fees and services up to that date and was VERY happy with the technical services recieved by the tech onsite today and that he was well worth the 180.00 she paid to send him out.. when I tried to close the call originaly issued at 45.00 for an hour, and requested an additional 45.00 for the overtime since I actualy spent 3.5 hours on this call.. but was happy accepting ony a 45.00 increase..

I was given a hard time.. and was almost not paid at all... I had to raise hell with them just to get paid period..

They REFUSED to pay me for the 3.5 hours I was there even though we completely changed this customers outlook and saved the customer for them..

I considered driving over to her house and telling her, but then I would be as bas as they are..

However, If i ever run in to her down at teh coutry store.. and she asks, I will not lie to her, or anyone else who asks. And out comany, and all of our freinds comanies no longer accept calls from these scam artists.. Our tech forums are filling up with complaints.

It is people like these guys that are making us all look bad.

They charged this lady 480.00 to crash her network and install utilities on her new copmuter that do NOTHING...

What we expected

Thats about what we expected you to say... We where in contact with your help desk almost the entire time.

He was well aware of what I was doing and incuoraged me to satisfy this cleints EVERY need so that we could close this clients ticket. He seemed VERY eeger to satisfy her as she was EXTREEMLY agitated and was asking for her money back..

I am not 12 years old. I have been doing this for a long time.

I own the comany I am not some young technician you can bully around. I was incontact with your ehlp desk I read the directions I followed your proceedures. The forums are filled with many complaints just like this one from other engineers and technicians that hve also been short changed by you the same way..

I just wanted to let other people know. I did not, for one red hot second, expect you to attempt to be honest and attempt to admit fault. I am sorry you find it neccessary to conduct your affairs like this. You are losing people out here buy the droves. NO wonder there are so many inferior techs doing inferior work..

Dear Frank Toms,

We have investigated this case internally and we can confirm that everything was done/ dealt in a proper manner when it came to your assignment with our customer. A fee of $45 was agreed with you for the assignment and if you had informed us before doing the extra tasks on the customers computer , we would have obviously considered it and set up a fee accordingly. Neither you nor the customer infiormed us of anything extra being done on the computer and asked for our permission on it. It was only after you finished the job we got to know about it.

We believe we fulfilled our contract agreement with you and paid you the money which was agreed when you accepted the work assignment. So your claim of we not being true to our word is completely false and not justified.

Thank you

Regards

ART

iYogi
