James Veldhuis Attorney at Law Jim Veldhuis Rip Off Attorney! He is an ineffective defender for his Clients. He is dishonest and violated the Professional Code of Conduct Ethics. Mount Pleasant Michigan

 Do NOT retain this Attorney for a criminal matter. He took my money and did absolutely nothing for me. During my consultation, he asked me a couple questions, then said he would take my case. He said that will cost you $1,500 flat fee. I wrote him a check and gave it to him. He never had me sign any papers and did not even give me a receipt. The whole consultation took approximately 5 to 10 minutes. After that I never heard from him again until I called his office for status of my Trial Conference. I never got to speak with James, unless I demanded to speak with him. I only got to speak with his Secretary and she seemed clueless about everything I questioned. I knew something was very strange about this attorney from the get go. He rescheduled my Trial Conference on two separate occasions because he had other court obligations. I never found out by my Attorney about these extensions from him personally either. Usually when an Attorney goes to a Trial Conference he will hear a Plea Bargain offer for his Client.

Two days ago, my Attorney went to my extended Trial Conference and still has not called me yet regarding the Plea Bargain Offer. I want to get this court stuff over with ASAP. I have gone through enormous stress waiting and waiting for the unknown . An Attorney is supposed to contact his client immediately following a Trial Conference, so the person can decide to accept the offer or move forward to a jury trial. Please be very BEWARE of this Attorney. He is very unprofessional, does not communicate with his Clients, does not care if he wins your case, he just cares about your money, he is incompetent and ineffective council and a huge SHARK. When I told my husband I retained this particular Attorney, he said that was a major mistake. He called this Attorney a "d***** bag." I found out today from the Secretary that the Plea offer is exactly the same offer that the DA offered me without having an attorney. This was my initial offer before retaining Mr. Veldhuis to represent me. I told his Secretary to have him call me. He still has not. This guy is a joke! So basically Mr. Veldhuis did take my money for nothing. My next step is to file a complaint with the Bar Association and BBB. He has violated the Professional Code of Conduct Ethics.
