I joined a co. Jan-L-Mkt,Louisville, KY & sister co. Smartz MKt, El Paso, TX. in Oct.2008. The co. is a Postcard Mailing Multilevel co. The recommended mailing 1,000 or more to start. I ordered 1,200 Postcards with my ID# on them, 1,200 Mailing List Labels, 1,200 27c stamps.I received 12 inquiries, but no one joined. One lady joined, but said the co was a scam because she did no receive her Return Address Labels which is the co's monthly product @ $13cash or $15. CC/CK. The co goes by A2P (a $2.00 program). I requested a refund, but they said they did not give refunds. My wife & I live on Social Secruity & receive about $1,800. p/mo. So this was not a good deal for us. I have filed this complaint so other people rich or poorer will not join this company.

If the co sends me my $545.00 refund I will post it on Rip-Off. Please do not join this company.
I truly hope that Lon Lindsey, President of Jan-L-marketing will get a copy of this letter & send my refund, before I put this same info on every Social network blog, the BBB, USPS Fraud Division, Atty Gen of my state, OK & KY.

POSTCARD MAILING SCAMS!!!

AUTHOR: MAKEMYDAY - ()

Take note that ALL of these so-called *Post Card* mailing businesses are nothing but Scams!!! 99.9% of these operations are variations of the old "Ponzi" schemes!! The only peope making any $$$ are the administrators or monitors of these programs - as they now call themselves!!

STAY AWAY FROM THESE TYPES OF SCAMS!!!

The truth about mailing to opportunity seekers.

AUTHOR: Junior E - ()

In the Direct Mail/Network Marketing business, one's success totally depends on the TYPE of mailing

list used to mail an offer to and I've seen too many marketers simply give up too soon after doing

a couple of mailings and receiving maybe a few inquiries but no actual sign-ups from mailing to

a list of opportunity seekers. From my own experience, there is a BIG difference between  opportunityseekers versus opportunity BUYERS! Opportunity seekers are comprised mostly of people

who are simply "curious" about an opportunity and not serious about joining. They also are only

interested in only what is "free" and not in something that's required of purchasing. Buyers are "proven"

spenders who have paid to join ligitimate money making programs and will most likely to respond to

any well presented opportunity if that program is a proven money maker to them. My advice to any

networker is to NEVER mail your program to opportunity seekers unless you "qualify" them first by

getting them to buy. Always mail to buyers. You'll have a much better chance to succeed.

Smartz is legit

AUTHOR: Saucy Dog - (United States of America)

Smartz Marketing does what they say, with materials that are professional and clearly, well-thought out.  It's simply a numbers game--I've earned $65 in commissions thus far--and my last commission was at 100%, in cash...that I believe that is rare, and pretty generous on their part. Heretofore, my impression is that  they mean business and want me to succeed--the program is simple, makes sense, and is a free market win-win for the company and us that promote it.  It does take time and a modest ongoing investment in materials (just postcards, labels and postage) but I can vouch that it is for real, and I'm giving it a shot.  If you're fatigued from offers that spout ambiguous language, and deliver nothing but $35 worth of disappointment and disillusionment--you will find Smartz refreshing and straight forward--just hang in there and give it a chance, like anything else worthwhile.

Poor Decision Making Does Not Constitute a Scam

AUTHOR: Rev. Michael Cauley - (U.S.A.)

To Whom it May Concern;
As a successful entrepreneur and a consumer who makes careful, yet informed and intelligent decisions to label these individuals as a "rip-off artist" after one mailing of post cards for any program is very much a rush to judgment.

Did this consumer actually mail 1200 postcards?

Who did the consumer mail these postcards too?

How did the consumer follow-up?

One postcard mailing is not a fair assessment of an opportunity or the individuals behind such. I believe the consumer here needs to exercise better judgment to live within his means. It sounds more to me like the consumer took an honest program and attempted to turn it into something it is not and that is a get rich quick scheme. When people get into a business they must exercise proper restraint not to over extend themself financially, you can not fault a business owner or a program as such for poor decision making by the consumer.

Very truly yours;

Rev. Michael J. Cauley

Lou's Letter of Apology

AUTHOR: Lon - (U.S.A.)

Below is Lou's letter of apology dated 2/28/09. I can supply copies of the original upon request.

"This is a leter of apology to all the officers, staff & members of the A2P program. I wrote u a terrible letter telling u how bad your mailing list names were & that I wanted a refund. After much soul searching I have decided to stay in the program if u will let me. I have been a perfectionist all my working life. I have never worked for any one. What I got mad about is u sent me some sample letters after I, we get inquiries. The one I like the best could not be reporduced, it was blank at the top. How trivial, huh? I know after u read my letter, that u think Lou xxxxxxx is a wierdo (sp). I hope to prove u wrong, if u let me say in the program. After I finally realized I had gotten 7 inquiries from my 1,200 mailouts that it was slightly more than the national average for direct mail. I have NOT contacted any of my inquiries to date. I will start as soon as u tell me I am still in the program. Please forgive an old 76 year old man dho does ot have much patience, but I'm learning. Please contact Smartz to reinstate me if I'm still in the program. Please accept my humble apology. Thank you very much.

Lou xxxxxxxx"

In Response To Lou's Posting

AUTHOR: Lon - (U.S.A.)

This is in response to "Lou's" posting regarding his not receiving a refund.

I communicated with Lou when he first threatened to file complaints and post comments if I did not refund his money. I have a copy of his threatening letter. I also have a copy of his letter of apology that he sent me four days later and even pleaded with me to re-instate him. There was a definite change in attitude from one day to the other.

As you now know, I did not send Lou a refund and although I don't see airing this in a public forum I do want to state there are always two sides to each situation.

Lou's situation was such that a refund was "not" in order because of the many factors involved in any kind of marketing be it mail order or others. I can't and I don't make any guarantees regarding a specific mailing. Lou made his decision based on his own false expectations as there is no way I would ever guarantee any kind of response. Because of that, I don't make "satisfaction guaranteed" refund statements.

I further communicated with Lou educating him on what to expect when doing any kind of mailing to opportunity seekers.

Sincerely,
Lon Lindsey
