JASON KAIOne Club Side Drive Henderson, Nevada United States of America
This IS a golf rip-off, but not a completely proven one - more of a CONSUMER ALERT. I will have to say ALLEGED, but how many people have to complain about the same event/same guy every week for it to merit some truth. I must say I like the Country Club that the person I am reporting about works for, but they definitely need help to manage their employees.
I have been a friend of and a frequent player at a major swanky Country Club in Henderson, Nevada for a few years, and have played consistently about 6 times a year there as a guest of a member. Last year, my friend there passed away. I would never complain about this if he was still alive, as I wouldn't want to bring embarrassment or strife his way. Now that he's gone, I feel as if it is appropriate to state my feelings.
The man in question is JASON KAI or JAY KAI, a "golf bag boy" at the local Country Club. [continued below]....
I had visited my now departed friend and his wife for the last 2 years at this Country Club, and had the chance to get to know some of the club employees, as our stays there were for a week at a time, and we would play every day. We thought we were going to purchase a home and retire there.
Here's the rip-off : I was always MISSING ITEMS from my golf bag every time I played there, and JASON KAI was usually the one handling my golf bag or near it. It took me quite some time to figure it out.
I lost various amounts of cash, maybe $200 in total, ($40 here, $20 there...) but the capper for me was when my watch went missing last summer in 2011. Granted, it was no Rolex, but rather a birthday gift Accutron from my wife. $500 decent watch.
What I saw was JASON KAI going through my bag when I came out of the pro shop. He put his hands in his pockets very quickly, and walked away from my golf bag. I didn't realize I had lost my watch until after we went back to the hotel.
If other members at this country club hadn't have said that he was known to "rifle through golf bags," and take cash, golf mementos, lost clubs and other items, I would have never put 2 & 2 together. Then it dawned on me that I had been missing all sorts of things over the past 3 times I had played in 2010 and 2011, including cash, the watch, and a nice pocket knife.
The boy in the pro shop was little help either - Bryan Saunder. Smuggest jerk of a young man that I've ever seen. According to members, his reputation for returning lost golf items from the pro shop isn't stellar as well. We'll let the membership take care of him. He is a non-issue in this case.
Members rumors say JASON KAI has a bad attitude, is a racist, and has a rather checkered past with law enforcement agencies with many rumors circulating about sales of illegal funny green plants. Rumors, mind you. Alleged, mind you. Public talk.
I might be old, I might forget things, I might be slightly cantankerous, and I am not a member of the country club, but someone has to say what needs to be said when wrong doing is afoot.
This young man is an opportunist, has an unproven but talked about track record of golf bag thievery and alleged illegal doings. Regular golf members of this Country Club all complain about his bad attitude and common knowledge of personal item thievery from golf bags. Unfortunately, I don't see us playing there again because our dear friend is no longer with us, but this situation WAS A FACTOR in our decision to purchase a home at a different course, than in Henderson.
BEWARE of bag boy JASON KAI if you play a posh Country Club in Henderson, NV. He is a fat pudgeball of a Japanese man, resembles a person with mental disabilities, and has half a moustache. He has itchy fingers for personal items. Hold onto your valuables!
