JCM Hauling engaged in a contract to pick up my horse in Oklahoma and transport him to my home in Alabama for the sum of $550.00 They picked up the horse, with all health documentation ( health certificate and negative coggins)drove one hour and decided to return the horse saying he was sick. They dropped the horse at the starting point and kept all my money. I spoke with the vet who issued the Heath certificate and he claimed he was not sick. I spoke to the barn owner and he claimed the horse was not sick. I asked for JCM Hauling to return $275 of my $550 since they did use gas to pick him up and more to return him I had no problem with splitting it with them, but the refused and kept my entire amount of payment saying " I won't return one dime"! This is unfair to agree to pick up the horse.. Charge to pick up the horse.. Not bring the horse the agreed upon distance and just keep all of my money when the contract states 50% upon pick up and 50% upon delivery. I made a mistake and paid it all up front. Do not trust this transporter. This is a scam if I've ever seen one.

The truth about this issue is Mary Ann lied to us

AUTHOR: JCM Hauling - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, September 18, 2017

MaryAnn hired us to transport a horse to her, in our contract it clearly states we will not haul any type of rescue horse or sick horses. The contract clearly states that if we arrive and have been lied to or horse is ill we will not haul the horse and all contracted monies are due immediatly.

MaryAnn was given numerous chances to come clean on the situation, kept lying and when James showed up to the sellers farm the horse was surrounded by rescue/kill pen horses, was sick and the seller handed him the horse and shut the gate refusing to allow James to reject the horse.

I contacted the seller asap and MaryAnn which both decided to ignore our calls all night.  I contacted the USDA to report the seller, MaryAnn and the vet who gave the horse it's travel paperwork.

The next morning MaryAnn called me to yell at me cause our trailer had not left and we were refusing to haul the sick horse, Maryann kept telling me just haul it so she could take care of it.  I explained numerous times before we arrived to pickup and after we arrived to pick up we will not and can not haul sick horses, it is too much of a disease transfer risk and against the law to do so!  The vet was finally reached and he agreed to take the horse in and treat it and deal with the seller.  The vet even disenfected our trailer numerous times because we had to deal with the horse all night.

I have plenty of photos, copies of her signed contract and copies of messages back n forth between us.  She signed a contract knowing if she lied or the horse was sick that money was owed immediatly and no refunds were to be done.  Our FB page JCM Hauling has excellent reviews and we are very strict to ensure our clients horses are well taken care of.
