After consolidating my loans, my lawyer sent letters to each of my creditors informing them of my action and informing them also that they were not to contact me in any form, whatsoever.
Did the letter accomplish anything? It gave the lawyer legal rights to file violations in a court of law and send them violation letters for contacting me by phone---three times a day for a total of 372 phone calls.
They called me at 7:30 pm, 8pm and again at 9:00pm every single day, Saturday and Sunday included, for the past four months. In addition, they keep sending me monthly bills as if the consolidation never happened, at all.
I have received constant harassment, day and night by phone and by mail for over four months, and am still being harassed.

Is your attorney a debt consolidation attorney? Some debt consolidation companies/attorneys collect money from you every month, but do not pay your debts until they have received enough money to make settlements. Because of this, creditors keep bothering you.
JC Penney will not work with debt consolidation companies. A relative went through a debt consolidation company that told him right off the bat that JC Penney will not work with them. Therefore his debt consolidation company did not collect any money from him to pay towards JC Penney and told him he is on his own with JC Penney.
Does anyone know this answer: Is a Cease and Desist letter from a debt consolidation company/attorney enforceable? Or does it have to come from the original debtor?
