 Since Jiffy Lube sends out coupons every month, I decided to give them a try today with their 24.99 oil change. As I pulled up I asked if they will change my oil for the coupon price and asked if there are any exceptions. The employee said they would do it for the 24.99 price. Within 5 minutes he comes in and said " What kind of oil do you want?" I said I want oil of the grade labeled on the oil cap. They come back right away and said, Oh, it needs synthetic oil for $75 more. I said, no, I've had my oil changed hundreds of times with regular oil, just put that in. Then they tried to tell me that conventional oil is only good for 2-3000 miles. Right. What a lie. Ok, I said, put my old oil back in and I'll go to the tire dealer across the street and get the right oil put in for $20.00. They said, "Oh, I misunderstood. They meant it would last 5,000 miles." Two minutes later they come back with both air filters, and say they need replacement. Sorry, but I changed both of those 2,000 miles ago, they were clean and practically new - put them back in. Then I get the bill. They tried to tell me my oil filter was special and they need another $10 for that filter.  I look it up on my smart phone. No premium for that filter. I point out that the fine print on the coupon does not have any exceptions for filter size. The coupon says an oil change is $25.00 no exception. They tell me I can't have my car back unless I pay the bill with the extra charge. At this point I'm ready to call the cops. And complain to the state attorney general about deceptive practices and bait and switch, when it occurs to me to pay with a credit card and dispute the bill, or with a check and put a stop on it. I then ask to talk to the manager. He finally backs off and charges what the coupon says. But you know what? I shouldn't have to get mad and lose my temper to be given the contracted price. Life is too short for this type of scum operation. I will never let my shadow cross their path again, and suggest you do likewise. I should have checked complaints on the internet. From reading many comments this type of behavior seems endemic. A word to the wise: Do NOT ever patronize this bunch of thieves.
