Local internet/ Craigslist scam. Occurrence Wed. Feb. 19, 2014

The 2 gentleman involved claimed that they could remove dents from my vehicle with a special process that involved a chemical that (once applied) would heat up and unbuckle the dings over night. I also have a deeper dent that requires more astringent attention because the paint chipped when it occurred.

They guaranteed that they could sand, and temporarily fill the chipped section pending a curing process that would enable it to be redone within 24 hours. Once cured, they promised to buy the factory paint color for my vehicle and dilute the paint into a 60/40 composition that would enable them to spray and blend the section with a clear coat to a perfect match.

I allowed them to proceed once we scheduled a meeting at my place after I finished my work day (Wed.)

I paid them 70 dollars for the prep and paint. (Balance 50) total 120. They sanded and prepped the chipped section + applied a substance to all smaller dings around the vehicle in approx. 20 minutes.

I was instructed by them to wash off the substance with warm water and a towel after 24 hours

( at that time the dings were to be completely healed)

Thursday evening:

1. No change in the small dings and dents.. didn't work at all

2. They refuse to answer my calls, answer the phone nor make any attempt to return to finish the work.

3. They ruined my roof by sanding the area and filling it with a cheap bonded filler that has since decomposed and partially run off in today's rain. (Friday Nov. 21)

4. I attempted to initiate a police report but the satellite stations ( Regency Mall M-F, 9-6pm and Powers Ave M-F, 9-5pm) closed before I could get there after work. 615pm

I made them give me a receipt and I took a picture of their license Plate.

Names : John and Mark McGill Phone: Charlie 904.962.3448 ( they said Charlie is their Uncle )

Plate information: Texas CHD-9497

I am posting this and filing a formal complaint with the police in the hopes of catching up to these people to prevent other good folks from getting scammed, and hopefully recover some of my 70 dollar deposit.

I would hate to run into them, invoking an incident where I possibly hurt them physically, in return, getting myself into a jam.

Thanks in advance, burnt consumer.

Nice people have their limits too. ...... smh
