No Man of His Words

Hello all,

I am a Marine Veteran who have recently moved to Las Vegas NV from Los Angeles CA back on March 29, 2016. I decided that I would like to purchase a new car from a private dealer because my old car had just given out on me. I called my bank and was pre-approved for 6000 dollars to get a new used car. My partner and I started looking for a vehicle together in town and on the internet. We came across a dealer who owns a auto shop (Johnson LLC)in Henderson NV who went by the name of Scott Johnson. He had a post on Craiglist that listed a 2009 Volvo S40 24i for 5000 dollars. Around the April 1 2016 We contacted him and offered to meet him so that we can get a better look at the car and he agreed. When we arrived to the place, he then showed us the vehicle and we took it for a test drive. When driving the vehicle, me and my partner noticed that the vehicle was not running properly and making weird noises along with old tires that needed to be replaced. After the drive, we brought to his attention about that the car needed maintenance updates such as shocks, brakes, rotors, ect. will needed to be looked at because we fear something is wrong with the car and new tires will need to be replaced on it He agreed that the car needs work and that he will have the worked done before he release the vehicle to us.When going over the paper work for the vehicle,we noticed his name was not on the title so that the car was not legally registered to him by the state of Neveda. He also informed us that the car was repossessed from a previous owner and that he just have the car in possession to resale. However, he assured us that there was nothing to worry about because it shouldn't gove us any problems from the DMV.I had the check that was pre approved from my bank made out to Scott Johnson for 6000 on April 1 2016 and the agreement was for him to replace the car parts. He told us that he will need to order the parts and it will take up to a week. We ended up driving away with the car to get  a 30 day registration. During that week we notice that the engine check light was on while driving it and brought it to his attention. On April 7th, he informed me that the car parts were in and I can bring it in and he will take a look at the engine check light issue. On April 8, the car was back in his possession to work on. On April 9th, he told me that the car was ready to go and all done up and fixed and said he replaced thestruts, shocks, new sway bar links, and rotos and that the issue with the engine check light was minor and should not be any worries When taking the car in to the DMV they registered the vehicle, however, it was along tidious process because his name was not on the title. When getting the vehicle registered and renewing the title, they told me that the car had back taxes on it that never been paid for and  that they will have the car  to  be appraised at 12,000 dollars for 8.15% in taxes which means that I owe 1,043 dollars for a new title.Brought it to Scotts attention and he had no idea about why they would do that.My partner and I noticed that the car had the same issues and that none of the tires were the same. Scott consistently stated over and over again that he had done well over 1000 dollars worth of work and on the car and that the tires were new used tires which was not what we wanted. The car began to shut off and we noticed that the battery cable was hooked up very wrong because the connection was with old wires and duct tape along with a garden hose clamp and cause the car to shut down while driving. 3 months later around or about July 27th, my car gives out, oil leaks every and into the altenator which shuts down the car and there was a bad battery connection. When the car was in the shop to get fixed and looked at, a mechanic who worked on the vehicle and gave it a thorough inspection, stated that the battery connection was a disater, the oil leak damaged the cars' altenator and things that Scott stated he replaced were not replaced one bit and they were old parts that did not match. The correct part for the battery was ordered and replaced along with a new altenator. I ended up spending over 1300 dollars in repairs due to Scotts negligence. I am taking action and saying that this man is not trustworthy and I want to take action
