I was recently filmed by the show.  I was expecting more professionalism from Mathis and the producers.  There was no factual or reasonable bisis for his award. Complete irrationality.

Agreed, it is a TV show 100%

100% TV show 0%court. The ripoff is that the show misrepresents that it is both. The show needs to remove the non-appeal part of the contract - the show would still be using a real case and original parties.

 You chose not to appear in an actual court, but instead take your case to a TV show, whose primary function is entertainment.   Ripoff?   I don't think so.
