My wife & I are in the process of purchasing a home. My credit has been great with this company, with a limit of $3500, never maxed or late payments. So, while my mortgage broker advises me to not spend with my cards before closing, my spending decreased on the Juniper card & consequently they cut my limit to $1600- which is only about $250 above my current balance and the day after X-mas, no less. So now my card is pretty much maxed and this has a huge impact on my debt to credit ratio & may affect the home purchase. What can be done about this? There was no advance notification, and my credit score will likely be damaged, although it is too soon to tell at the moment.

My mistake, they lowered my limit to $115 over my balance, not the $250 I originally thought..
