On May 31, 2012 I entered into an agreement with Justin Lanno of Justin Eric Design. He was to create a web site for my business, a logo and he offered 400 business cards for the amount of $400.00. Starting off he was professional and I thought this would work out....boy was I wrong!
On May 31, 2012 I paid a deposit of $200.00. The remaining balance was due when the site was approved, as stated in the contract. Over the next several weeks, Justin and I communicated via email, phone and text regarding the site. I was more than patient with Justin over this process. On July 16, 2012 Justin sent an email with a link to the site and an extended work agreement to make any necessary changes as long as payment was made this day. Per a telephone conversation, I made the final payment.
On Friday July 20, 2012 I sent Justin a detailed email regarding his work, and the changes I wanted as he requested. The site was ok, I could have done better using a do it yourself web builder. I was very detailed and specific as to what I was looking for and wanted. The following are a series of text messages between him and I after I had tried to contact him to assure he received my emails and to check the status of the site. This is a perfect example of the sorry excuses it seems he gives everybody! He pretends he is working on your site but obviously is not!!!
Vanessa-Just want to confirm you received my email.
Vanessa-I can meet for 4 lmk if that works
Justin - Vanessa just got this. Thought u were gonna let me know yesterday. Any time tomorrow?
Vanessa - What time tomorrow
Vanessa-Hey I sent you an email this morning; let me know what you want to do. Tx

Vanessa - Please call me today, tx.

Vanessa - Ok,tx
Justin - Vanessa we should be live tomorrow. Im leaving a meeting in a few minutes. I will call today to go over everything. Sorry had to take a few personal days
Justin - Hey Vanessa did you call I was cooking dinner
Vanessa -Yes I did, I never received a new link and I still have questions regarding the site and pictures you never responded to.

Justin - Can you check the link once more and let me know what you think. I havent changed the text all over but the new background should be applied.
Vanessa - Call me
Vanessa - I saw the link and none of the changes I requested were done. What is going on? This is not what we discussed. You wont call me, havent answered any of my questions? I feel that you are avoiding me and I dont appreciate the way you have handled this project. Tomorrow morning I would appreciate a call so these issues can be resolved. I would hope this matter can be resolved as business professionals, in lieu of other means.

Justin - Hey Vanessa not avoiding you. Had a funeral this morning. I am reviewing the emails again and will send a link tomorrow most likely. Im totally redesigning.
Vanessa - I am an honest person, and if something is wrong or your having problems executing the site just be honest with me and communicate. Thats all I ask, this delay is costing me more time and money, its frustrating when I dont know whats going on.
Justin - I understand Vanessa. I want this to be done this week. Im working on it all day today
Vanessa - Please keep me posted with the stus of the site. I still want to discuss the pictures.

Vanessa - No, as far as the pictures you said you would put on a bright white background and you didnt, and your total disregard for my suggestion that I emailed you. now I want to be reimbursed for the photos not taken. And want the photographers contact info.

Vanessa should have texted or left a message, ill be up for like an hour can you send me the link with the changes? I have been more than patient, this is unacceptable I have been so honest with you and you still dont seem to be concerned about how upset I am with our dealings and the site, I cant work like this. You didnt hold your end of the agreement.
Justin Vanessa I called as asked. I have apologized and like Ive said Im trying ti accomplish the look youre looking for. Id rather meet. Ive asked for your schedule. What is the schedule for this week look like.
you keep wanting to meet without calling or answering my questions, you did not call and if you did you should have called again ir text me and I would have called you. you just asked to day to meet, what about last week? And the weeks before when I was calling, sending emails and text? I want a refund for my pictures and the last $200, this is not a business relationship I want any part of, you should revaluate how you handle your customers.
Justin I highly disagree with your requests and I asked to meet for weeks. Redesigning the whole site isnt something I can do in a day or week. I think I need to be allotted a reasonable amount of time to accommodate your request.
you sent me the link and three days later I sent you my changes, that was within the month extension. You told me the changes were done, then send me a link with the background color changed and nothing else. Now your telling me you still need time, like I said this is not going to work.
I had to get a look and feel approved before I spent hours coding the shop thou its a wix template its layered is psds. may I please have until Thursday afternoon to be done?

you did not fulfill your own extension nor did you reply in a timely manner to another extension, like I stated I have moved forward legally. I have overwhelming documentation of conversations and the lack of communication by
you. I never approved the site hense the very detailed email with the changes because I was not satisfied. See you in court soon!

Im closing out my books and want to make sure youve gotten all of your refunds, feel bad business went that way. I purposely did not respond to Justins last correspondences because there was no need to continue going back and forth when he clearly breached not only his own extension agreement, but the last one I created as
well. Not only was the site never completed, he stated he needed proeffessional pictures for the site, which I had provided yet he stated they were not good enough. I paid an additional $244 for start up photos, when I recieved the photos on CD and shared how disatisfied I was, he refused to refund my money nor would he give me the contact infomration to the photographer. He stated he could "png" the photos to a white backgraound since the photos looked like he hung a sheet in the background to take pictures of my product, another promise made and not kept. In all I was out $871.00 - i disputed the charges I made with my credit card company and was reimbursed in full!!!!
I have started a civil suit to get the rest of my money!
Working with Justin lead me to loose time and money!!!!
The charges in the amount of $278.16 were reimbursed through a dispute with my credit card company. Justin Lanno was held responsible for services not rendered. This has been the worst experience I have ever encountered. I am confident that this information along with the attached documents will suffice that the contract was not met, therefore the services were not rendered and I am entitled to a full refund since my website was never finished.
