the following is a copy of a conversation about charges made to me for homeschooling one of the largest in the US i use the info directly from there own site and this was the result :
You are now chatting with Toni Deans (K-12 Free Homeschool)

Toni Deans: Sorry you got dropped
jen s****: yea happens somtimes
Toni Deans: I have your account pulled up and I see that you chose two Science courses are you aware of that?
jen s****: yes
jen s****: 1 is intro to med as elective
jen s****: the problem I have is that I didnt want to pay any more mney til we got the media in the mail
Toni Deans: Ok looking at your account you have a balance on your account you have not paid since Dec 31, Jan 2, Feb 1 for $39.95 each and it tried to pull from the credit card on file and it declined so there is a $1.00 declining fee bringing the total to $120.85
jen s****: the problem I have is that I didnt want to pay any more mney til we got the media in the mail
jen s****: MemberServices@K-12FreeHomeschool.org <---doesnot work
jen s****: There was a problem!
Please check all email addresses. Looks like one of them may not be formatted correctly.
Toni Deans: It does not come in the mail all course work is done online so the curriculum is available for the student to work on once the bill is paid the student will have access
Toni Deans: I will send the member service information to our tech department to be checked

jen s****: are you saying this is not correct
Toni Deans: All this information is from the website and is correct
jen s****: yes so why did i pay for material i am not gouing to recive
Toni Deans: That why it is a homeschool the students work from home with all of the curriculum online they just work and submit all coursework online
Toni Deans: It is not for materials it's for the access of the curriculum it's called access fees
jen s****: then whats 39.95 month tuition for sounds and looks like im paying twice for same service very misleading
jen s****: my daughter has been waiting for 2 months
jen s****: very disappointed
Toni Deans: No let me explain you pay the start up cost which is a one time access fee per course of $14.95 then you pay $39.95 per month for the curriculum
jen s****: so multi media is actually just the internet
jen s****: which would or should be caled single media
jen s****: ther is no multui
jen s****: very misleading
Toni Deans: There is multimedia access that were the curriculum comes from through the multimedia access
jen s****: so your saying if the course requires it you get media in the mail
Toni Deans: no online
jen s****: correct?
jen s****: if online if required
jen s****: ?
jen s****: so its a 39.95 month then a 1 time acess fee
Toni Deans: Don't understand the comment
jen s****: on top of 39.95 monthg
Toni Deans: there is a one time access fee for $14.95 and then $39.95 tuition per month per student
jen s****: right whats 14.95 for?
jen s****: so this is a startup fee?
Toni Deans: access fees the curriculum
Toni Deans: yes start up fee and then the tuition to maintain access with the curriculum
jen s****: ok i understand that
jen s****: Interactive CD-ROMs, audio, videos, and many more online and offline home school activities
what would be offline
jen s****: what am i getting for 14.95 that is OFFLINE
jen s****: did not recive any cd roms
Toni Deans: You don't receive any books, cd roms or materials in the mail all the curriculum is uploaded online for the students so that's what the access fee is for to access thins information online for the student
Toni Deans: Then you have to pay $39.95 per month for tuition
jen s****: your site clearly states cdroms for offline use
jen s****: so is this a correct stament or not
jen simon: if everything is online what is done off line with cds
Toni Deans: This is correct there use to be CD roms sent out to the students and the parents did not return the CD roms so we no longer use them the information that the students need for there curriculum is all online now
Toni Deans: Nothing is done offline with CDs
Toni Deans: Everything is done online
Toni Deans: CDs are from the past
Toni Deans: Multimedia access is the future
jen s****: so im being paid to access online stuff
Toni Deans: correct
Toni Deans: the curriculum
jen s****: being charged
jen s****: 14.95 for media thats online when your site stated that ther are interactive OFFLINE cd roms which does not exsist anymore
jen s****: and if its future stuff why do i pay now why not when needed
Toni Deans: Because the access of interactive links and videos come up through out the curriculum
jen s****: well i have to say that if this was more clearly stated on your site i would of choose some1 else instead sounds like a bait and switch situation
jen s****: and if your site is out of date then maybe you guys should fix this before more confussing problems arise in the future it is misleading and i wil not be using your service because i donot know what will change in the future without my knowledge
Toni Deans: Ms. S**** this is the way that the K-12 homeschool works you pay a start up access fees and then a monthly tuition and as i looked at your account you have a unpaid balance that disables your account for your student to begin the curriculum but once that is paid the student can begin to do course work. This is a legitimate school .
Toni Deans: So if you are satisfied would you like me to disenroll your account
jen s****: yes but the info on your site states 1 thing and you state another
Toni Deans: Ok I will disenroll your account
jen s****: so where do you tell people on your site that there are no offline stuff you recive ....you dont so it is outright wrong
jen s****: ok
Toni Deans: I will forward your concerns to our tech department and you do want me to disenroll your account right
jen s****: also i will be forwarding the following conversation to whomever it goes to because your site clearly states 1 thing that is outright false
