First Incident

On May 11, 2013, I was hired on the first interview with Scott and he told me that it was a BASE PAY several times in the interview.  I would work 11am to 8 pm (Monday thru Friday).  In addition, before I came to the interview I was adivsed three times on the phone with his HR manager Elizabeth Hurley that it was base and the pay would be $30,000.  I would receive a check weekly and I would get BASE with commission.  On May 13, 2013 (1:53 PM EST) , I was advised to come in at 10:45am for first day training.  When I came into the office, people were friendly but I wasn't advised about the field training and to wear comfortable shoes.  I meet Jayne who I went out with that first day.  It was then I was advised it was door to door sales which was fine as long as I knew I was getting a base pay.  I went out with energy having this job.  Jayne did not care for me too much because I saw it in her expression.  I didn't care anyway.  So, I noticed that everyone was wearing light blue ATT U-Verse Solutions Provider's Shirts.  I asked Jayne would I get one and she told me I had to earn it. 

On May 14, 2013 (2:05 PM EST), I went out with Jayne with again wearing all black (black Polo shirt).  Before we went out to the field, we stopped to Racetrac where the Assistant Manager Keshawn was there.  I looked into Keshawn and Jayne's mouths when Keshawn said to Jayne that I should have a ATT U-Verse shirt when working on the field. Jayne responded that she didn't believe I was a fit for the company, wouldn't be there long and not advising to get her a short.  Keshawn said Okay.  Also, it was finally announced to me that I am REQUIRED to work Saturadays (9am to 5pm EST).  At this point, I had been trying to talk with Scott because these people were talking about break evens which I did not know what that mean and other issues.  On May 15, 2013,   a new guy came on board for interview and second day training (field) named Jason.  It was his first day and he got an ATT U-Verse same day!  I was furious at the inconsistency and prejudice displayed by Jayne towards me.   On Thursday, May 16, 2013 (1:45PM EST) I meet Scott in the hallway and asked for a shirt and he gave me one.  Ever since then, Jayne has been bad mouthing me since.  What great leaders, huh!  Around May 21, 2013, I was on what was called a 3rd day re-train (please keep in mind- I wasn't explain none of this till it happens).  It was the that the second associate manager Simon advised me that I was commissioned based and there is NO BASE PAY.  It is only till you reach associate manager.  Everything I do with ATT U-Verse would be based on me getting a sale.    However, On May 23, 2013 all employees were placed in the "atmosphere" (a place where they said leaders and future leaders come together and cheer, play games and teach).  Scott Corn, the owner, presented a lady from AFLAC before tthe group and stated that we are to help her because she is an independent contractor and WE were ALL PAID as wage full time employees (YES!  I did W4 and paperwork on May 13, 2013).

SECOND INCIDENT:  In order to obtain a position with this company, they do a FULL BACKGROUND CHECK from Citcore who claimed to looked into your criminal history and snoop around on you.  PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT IN THIS BUSINESS YOU DO NOT HANDLE MONEY - ATT DOES THAT!  The background check was for you to get hired officially and get a dealer code.  It was two and half weeks later and I had to push the issue on Monday, May 27, 2013, I spoke with Scott Corn on where my dealer code will be given.  I had to write an official email and I voiced my concerns with three individuals (Jayne, Simon, and another leader).  Scott finally tells me a bad check $13.49 from 2007 showed up on my report four times.  Fortunately, I had the documentation to prove it was paid and it was a 1st offense - misdeamonor.  By law, misdeamnor should not be held against someone in a background check!  Scott claimed ATT viewed it as me bouncing a check on cable or TV. Really for $13.49!  Scott claimed he had a defense lawyer and he could get it taking care of.  I gave him the documentation and he was said he would work on it.  THAT NEVER HAPPENED. OH YEAH I WAS WORKING UNDER OTHER PEOPLE DEALER CODES IN THE MEANTIME AND I GOT PROMOTED TO LEADER WITHIN 6 DAYS! 

***The ironic thing is I have worked for ATT customer service a year ago (that's right) and they didn't hold it against me then. Nor did Chase, Convergys and two other companies I had worked for in the past two years as two jobs at one time***

Pay Update:   On June 4 2013, Tuesday,  I got a check for ONLY $45.41 for in-house training.  The split on the field Jayne was suppose to give me she didn't.  When I asked Jayne about it, then she tells me with a red face (like I forgot) that it would take 30 days from the install date to receive it.  But she never did it.  In addition, they gave a spit to a girl named Carla who DIDNT close the two applications I done. On Tuesday, May 28, 2013  Jayne tells Carla at the car that she was going to get all of mine because I stole the sale even though Carla and I split territory. Oh yeah!  Carla got promoted to leader based on my two applications.  When  I reported Carla hollering at me and accusing me of stealing apps that day, (I was suppose to train her - I was leader before her).  Scott and Jayne dismissed it and Jayne put out the comment I was jealous of Carla for apps I made. Jayne was so wrong to instigate such allegations

UPDATE:  On Wednesday, June 5 , 2013, I received an expungment approval from the county for those checks so my record will be cleaned.  I gave Scott the information and he STILL wasn't satisfied.  I knew then that SCOTT wasn't planning on giving me a DEALER CODE.  Something wasn't right.  (Also, I have ATT U-Verse and didn't have to put a deposit so again if I owed ATT it would have shown up - SUPSICISCIOUS RIGHT).

THIRD INCIDENT - Manager Throw Live Snakes In Business Meeting with NO Warning

As for PAY, THEY HOLD A TWO WEEK ON PAYING YOU THE FIRST CHECK.  They claim they are changing that but that is yet to be seen.  It is my birthday (06/08/13), I let everyone know and they dismissed me like a DOG!  We are business casual and IN THE MIDDLE of the meeting, Scott the manager brings in a LIVE SNAKE Scott found in the woods and just brought it in the room!  I have a horrible phobia of snakes and I ran and locked myself in Scott's office and then I peeked out into the room where I meeting was to see where and why Scott brought that snake in here.  Scott, Adam, Katie, Jayne and Keshawn laughed and said Oh I am afraid of the snake.  It wasn't funny.  I told them I viewed snakes as evil as Lucifer and they totally dismissed my feelings.  Scott puts the snake ON THE FLOOR and it is wiggling around in the office!  Can you believe they let that snake loose in the middle of business time!.  Scott laughed and didn't care about my feelings.  I am petrified of snakes and I ran outside of the building at this point twice.  I waited 20-25 minutes before I had the nerve to return.  When I come back into the office, I go to what is called "hang backs" (additional training for new people) with Mike and Drew.  I showed them my shaking hands and loss of breath.  Drew and Mike said dont worry about it and they would protect me.  Jayne came into the room twice saying the snake was put up but she didn't state where it was as I asked her.  Jayne had this scowl on her face urging me to go back into a meeting where Scott threw a snake on the floor and let it run around.  I refused to go with Jayne since she did not reassure me of the location of the snake.  This snake was a snake that Scott picked up out the woods.  When it was time for us to meet, I still was nervous and shaky.  I didn't want to go back into the room.  So, I am going into the room shaking and high fiving people until Katie takes her finger and do the move of a "S" on my back. 

First of all, Katie had no business touching me and second there was no regards to my feelings.  This is the third time.  I jumped, cursed, and ran out of the meeting.  Katie, Scott, Adam, Jayne, Drew, Mike, and Keshawn laughed as I left.  I ran so fast down the road that I forgot all my personal belongings.  I was petrified to the point that two ladies in a white car pulled over beside me walking and asked me if I was okay because I was clinching my chest and I didn't know it.  I came back eventually to the office and I sat across the street until everyone came out.  I aksed Mike to get my belongings and cursed those laughing at me out.  If we were such a family, then they would have came after me to see if I was alright or say Im sorry.  NONE OF THEM INCLUDING SCOTT SAID A THING JUST LAUGH STILL. THIS COMPANY HAS NO CONSIDERATION OR PROFESSIONALISM IN REGARDS TO RESPECTING PEOPLE.  YOU EITHER IN OR YOU ARE OUT.  The last thing Scott texted me was "Where did you go?"  I responded I was due an apology and I was petrified of them and that it is important to know when someone has fears to demonstrate empathy.  I said it was unprofessional and incosiderate to my feelsing being there only 3 weeks!  Scott, Jayne or none of the leaders called or texted.

DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY! YEAH THEY HAVE TEAM SPIRIT BUT IF A COMPANY HAS TO LIE TO YOU TO GET YOU THEN YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE THERE.  THEY KNOW MOST PEOPLE HATE COMMISSION JOBS IN THS DAY AND AGAE.  IF THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT ALL THEIR STAKEHOLDERS AND SENSITIVE TO THEIR FEELINGS OR FEAR, THEN IT IS NOT FOR YOU.  AS YOU CAN SEE, THEY KEPT PICKING ON MY BIRTHDAY IN THE MIDDLE OF BUSINESS PICKING ON ME!  THAT IS UNFORGIVABLE.  I HOPE THAT SCOTT DOES NOT CHEAT ME OUT OF THE MONEY FOR THE APPLICATIONS I HAVE DONE!  I OWE ONLY $175 FOR MY TRUCK TO GET OUT AND THE REST SHOULD BE MINE!!!

KAWS Do Not Pay Your Checks and STEALS MONEY

Please understand they tell you that they will give you 85% of the commission and allow you to get the other 15%.  Be aware Scott and others at KAWS steal money.  They refuse to let you see or put in documentation what items you are suppose to be paid.  I worked 50 hours and got a $200 for one week with a purple sticky note saying in cursive "3 cancelled" with no documentation of the name or the meoney.  In addition, I got a $45.41 check.

DO NOT TAKE THIS JOB!

No Justification for Ignorance

There is no justification for ignorance!  The bottom line is people in leadership SHOULD lead by example.  It is IGNORANT of you to try to justify your actions by correcting my feelings.  That is an inconsiderate statement.  No one has no business without ASKING or PROVIDING a courtesy warning to people about doing such things.  They did not know about my HEALTH HISTORY or my past with relationship to snakes.  People also tried to find ways to look for people's weaknesses.  It is immature, selfish, and EVIL.  I guarantee you that you reap what you sow. 

IN JESUS NAME I HOPE THAT EVERYONE WHO READS MY ACCOUNT PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOURSELF THROUGH THIS TYPE OF POSITION.  REMEMBER:

 

1.) THEY WILL SAY IT IS SALARIED BASED AND IT IS NOT.  COMMISSION ONLY - ONLY WHEN YOU GET TO ASSOCIATE MANAGER IT IS COMMISSION BUT THAT TAKES TIME (13 MONTHS AS THEY QUOTED ME).

 

2.) ANYONE WHO PROMISES TO HELP YOU TO GET YOUR DEALER CODE AND WAIT 3 WEEKS AND HAVE YOU USING OTHER PEOPLE'S DEALER'S CODES WITHOUT PERMISSION WHICH I DIDN'T HAVE BUT SCOTT GAVE ME TERRITORY AND USE IT IS ILLEGAL.  THE DEALER CODE IS CONNECTED WITH THAT PERSON SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, DOB, PHONE NUMBER AND ADDRESS.  DO YOU WANT A COMPLETE STRANGER TO HAVE YOUR DEALER CODE AFTER YOU HAVE LEFT THE JOB?

 

3.) DO YOU WANT TO BE WITH AN EMPLOYER WHO DISRUPTS A MEETING AND WITHOUT ANY CONSIDERATION BRING LIVE SNAKES IN THE FORUM.  WHAT IS WORSE...THEY KEPT PICKING AND LAUGHING ON YOU.  AND STILL PICK ON YOU.  DO YOU FEEL BEING PART OF A TEAM THEN?

 

4.)  DO YOU WANT TO BE UNDER A MANAGER WHO DOESN'T HAVE EMPATHY AND COMMON SENSE TO SAY IM SORRY AND NOT ENFORCE HIS LEADERSHIP TO RESPECT OTHERS AND TALK BEHIND YOUR BACK!  DO YOU WANT AN OWNER WHO WILL TELL YOUR BUSINESS TO EVERYONE WHEN IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE CONFIDENTIAL?

 

THINK OVER THOSE THINGS.  AS FOR THIS REBUTTAL, QUIT TRYING TO BE EDUCATIONAL ABOUT SOMEONE'S FEELINGS.  SUCH CONDESENDING WORDS IN YOUR STATEMENT DEMONSTRATES YOU LACK OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND EMPATHY WILL ONLY CURS YOUR FUTURE.  RIGHT IS RIGHT AND WRONG IS WRONG.  QUIT JUSTIFYING EVIL!!!

Your Rebuttal Means Nothing to Me

Thank you for your response but I am only documenting the facts.  I WILL NOT be going back and forth.  GOD sees and knows all.  I have recorda and I want my paychecks down fairly.  My last statement is the right to hire or fire should have been done withtin a week of hire.  I asked the manager since there is an issue with the dealer code should be part ways and advised he would fix it. Now, I do not care for the right to hire or fire in this situation.  People should conduct themselves as professionals at business meetings.

 IN JESUS NAME MY REPORT IS THE TRUTH AND I AM WARNING EVERYONE NOT TO GET INVOLVED WITH A COMPANY WHO LIES FROM THE BEGINNING!

 First let me say that although it should not have happened, these types of office high jinks are very commonplace. Agreed they were not very thoughtful but it happens more often than you think. Second, I think you should give in a little and relax. Oh and by the way, at the risk of sounding pedantic, petrified means imobilized with fear, you cannot be running out of a room or walking down the road when petrified. Thirdly, anything on your background check or finance check can be held against you by an employer, it is their choice whether or not to hire or keep you on, especially during the first probationary period. Their is no law which prevents an employer from that.
