The people working at Kirby out of BOTH southington AND meriden Connecticut are crooks, and liars. There are two ways that they deceive you. FIRST is the way they STEAL from the people they "sell" to. They come to your home and offer to clean your rugs or your furnature with their show vacuum. Then they try to sell you the vacuum and all of it's accessories. Except after you pay them, they RUN with YOUR MONEY! They never come back. The salesman is "fired" or "layed off" and the company takes no responsibility at all. Our salesman sold us upgraded products for the Kirby we already bought years ago, and he never came back. Hes gone/No longer at the company. We have called the company so many times (not harassing them, but calling once or twice each month) that they don't even answer for our home number. They know our number by heart. They don't care about us or the money we've lost. They refer you to the MERIDEN CT OFFICE, and give you a BOGUS address for it. It isn't even there! There is no kirby office where they tell you it is in Meriden CT. They use the "Meriden Office" as a way of throwing you off of their tails. They RUN with your money! DO NOT give these people your money for ANYTHING! If you buy a vacuum, they MIGHT actually bring it to you just to keep their reputation up. But if you pay them for new parts or services, they WILL run with your $$. 

Not only do they have crooked SALES tactics, they have a VERY crooked HR department. They put ads up on craigslist stating that they have 19 or 20 positions open for a "Customer Service" or "Telecommunications" or "Office" position, or a "Warehouse Position" where you will be working comfortably in an office or in a warehouse with other warehouse workers. But the truth is, they don't even have a large customer service, office, or warehouse. They are simply trying to get you into their office for an "interview" where they brainwash you into believing selling vacuums for them will be worth your time and effort. & they DON'T have 19 or 20 positions open either. They usually have 1-2 and you are placed into a room of 5 to 10 people, and your all competing for the same position! They don't take the brightest, most experienced person. They take whomever seems succeptable to their schemes, and whomever has a vehicle.

They use tactics like saying that they really like you, and that they think you would be perfect for the office in (enter your town name here) that they will be opening shortly. They tell you that you should stick with them in sales for a week or so and then they'll begin training you for a customer service/telecommting/office job. They NEVER WILL! They will have you walking the streets on rainy/snowing days, going from door to door hoping someone will let you in just so you can get out of the cold. Not only do they force you into a D2D sales position, they don't even let you use your own vehicle. They pack you into a van and they drop you off in different neighborhoods and force you to walk the streets until someone lets you in. They don't care about their workers at all. They are abusive too. I have heard many stories of them threatening their employees with legitimate VIOLENCE if they do not make a sale in X amount of days. They make you do demonstrations for your family and friends and if you do not have a large group of family/friends, they WILL fire you on the spot, with NO severence pay. You get no benefits, you get nothing at all. They are very bad people in my opinion. This is all my opinion of them & the company.
