 Clearly Kirk wrote the rebuttal saying how great he is. This is how he acts and treats people. He is a terrible person and is extremely rude. It's really sad to see Gale Leetzow handing over his company to somebody so entitled. He was a great guy and had a good relationship with us. Kirk finally gave us our taxes back after they were due, then rudely harassed us almost daily to pay him after it was explained that the money needed to be arranged for payment which was understood by his office. He clearly does not want any business from people other than those that will pay him up front for a questionable job. He threatened to lie to a worrisome old man whom I was representing about what was happening and saying I was refusing to pay and had the audacity to ask why I cared so much about money that wasn't mine. I had to explain that I exist to defend the old man from people like him. I was in utter disbelief. All questions you ask are blamed on Obama or you're given the run around with non-specifics. He is very lazy and does the absolute minimum to help you and demands a huge check for doing nearly nothing. He refuses to make phone calls or do any research on your behalf. Avoid this "man" at all costs. You're better off talking to the guy in the Uncle Sam outfit swinging a sign out on Main Street.

This is not a Fake report ! Thsi report was filed becuase of my dealings with Kirk Leetzow... It is much more based around the fact that Kirk is a terrible person and a jerk that over charges his clients for the crapy job he does. Just because you have the certificates needed doesnt make you good at your job.

This report is intended to warn others that its not worth the money to work with Kirk Leetzow, go elsewhere otherwise you will be writting a frustrated review like me...?

Kirk has been my business and personal Accountant for years.  He's extremely knowledgeable and has helped prevent me from making mistakes which could have been a disaster to my business and personal life. I would highly recommend him for all accounting and tax services.

I'm writing specifically in response to and call out a what I believe is a fake and misleading Ripoff report filed against Kirk here on Ripoff Report.  The report implies Kirk has an alliance with the IRS and is a "glorified FedEx delivery guy" who takes your files and drops them off to the IRS in exchange for a handsome commission for tipping off his paying customers in this sweet double dipping money cycle.

This report is contains artificial claims and could only be have been reported by someone who is hostile to their situation and blaming Kirk for their own financial reporting mistakes. 

The IRS would most likely audit based on a filling that appears to have errors, unreported income, or if it's suspiciously tricky.  At the end of the day, you are accountable for the information you give an accountant to report and are still accountable for it even after.  

This fallacious report also mentions “I would have much rather hired my own CPA or Attorney to represent me”.  Is this individual also holding their CPA accountable for the mistakes that lead to an audit?  I assume the individual who filed the report really couldn’t have been effective with their CPA’s representation and was hoping to find a loophole to make the issues disappear.

I get it, it sucks, and it would be insanely difficult on an individual, their family, and possibly their entire business and ultimately their employees.  I’m really sorry you’re in tough spot.  (Which is exactly why I hire Kirk to prevent this type of mistake that can lead to a lot of tax issues.)

Tax evasion is illegal and a crime (though, I’m not implying this is an issue you have).  But systems are in place to make sure everything checks out including audits and subsequent repayment and consequence. Clearly no amount of audit advice or representation will magically be swept under a rug and disappear.  I do believe you had to walk away more informed or better prepared to handle your audit and situation. It’s ludicrous be upset that it costs money (or even a lot of money) for a review of your financials and accompanying advice. Honestly, were I in your shoes I would have paid more for the knowledge there were no additional leaves left unturned, or that tiny bit more of advice even if only it were therapeutic to the emotional toll you must be experiencing.

To other readers, I don't think I need to bring to your attention the irony this report was filed by a user who used Kirk Leetzow as their account display name implying Kirk is filing a report on himself?  I get it if you don’t want to use your own “real” name, but come on.

To set the record strait, I’ll share a few things I know to be true about Kirk.

Kirk is an Enrolled Agent, which means he has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the IRS.  An enrolled agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards requiring adherence to ethical standards continuing education courses.

Kirk is knowledgeable in tax preparation and law.  He would do everything he can to help you make your relationship with the IRS and repayment have minimal impact within the law.  I know of several ugly cases Kirk has helped navigate to be as painless as possible and exceeding client expectations of best case scenario.

Kirk is interested in helping you succeed.  He’s kindly networked my services to his other clients which are now also my client. 

Kirk prices his services fair.  If the recommendation to pay your accountant the most second only to your self were true, I’m definitely underpaying Kirk. (With the amount business he brings to me, he’d be my best performing marketing ad.)

I’d highly recommend Kirk especially for tax preparation.  I know too many people including friends and family that make mistakes using solutions like Turbo Tax leading to costly penalties and repayment instead of hiring an expert like Kirk.
