We can only say we made a VERY BAD choice in hiring KLAMFOTH inc. to do a paver walk and patio. HERE IS WHY:

Day after job was completed it looked good except for couple minor problems.
1. left large underlayment gravel all along edge of walk and patio covering snap edge, they were supposed to put top soil over snapedge so we could seed as written in final estimate.
2. corner paver was falling off because there was not enough support under the corner.

Called right away and left message on salesman's phone.

Two or three days pass NO return call - Call again - STILL no return call.

By this time we are having more serious problems.
1. besides those problems above we now discovered four low spots that held water, it did not run off and had to be swept off or evaporate. Two of the low spots were against the foundation and one area was so deep when we stood in it it covered out feet!

2. we had KLAMFOTH install polymer sand to our large existing paver patio and now the sand is pulling up in large rubber like strips making the patio VERY unsightley!

Called for the THIRD time, this time left message on saleman's phone and main phone to KLAMFOTH. STILL no return call.

By now I had out of state company for the next three weeks. As soon as eveyone left I resummed calling KLAMFOTH.

Finally reached someone, the office manager, I explained to her that I had been trying to reach the salesman Rob and even left message on office phone which she claimed to not recall - she assured me she would have Rob call as soon as he came in.

NO RETURN call, gave three different numbers to reach us, by this time I am really getting frustrated, but we had one advantage, we had not paid the balance, only the down payment. WE figured they would eventually call if they wanted paid.

Next morning called first thing, office manager said Rob was coming in very soon and she would make sure he called. I told her if they wanted the paid the balance someone better call!!

GUESS THEY FORGOT they did not have all their money because I received a call from Rob about five minutes later! His excuse for not returning our calls
quote "we did'nt have enough crew" WELL that is no excuse to not even pick up the phone to find out what our problem IS!! let us know they will take care of it!

We came to an agreement when they could come out when we would be home. We wanted to run water on the walk and patio area's to show them the low spots. They would call or knock when they arrived. No call, just went outside after hearing banging to discover the installer working. It was dry out and there was NO WAY with out wetting it down to know exactly what pavers needed pulled out. I got the hose and pulled it aroung and wet the areas so we could get it done right.

We already had pulled up the unsightley gravel along the edge ourself before our out of state guests arrived, so he got out of doing that, he just needed to fill in with top soil.

After the installer was done repairing the low spots he was cleaning up to leave, I said well what about the corner stone, the top soil, and most of all the polymer sand that was coming out of the cracks on our large paver patio.He said quote "I was not told about those problems", so he cleaned up and left.

BUT upon leaving he left polymer sand for US to fill in the cracks and the cracks in the area he just repaired. THEN HE HAD THE NERVE to ask for the balance, he said quote " they told me not to come back without the check"
I told him there would be NO addition payment until all repairs were complete!

He then proceeded to leave and started up the machine that tamps down the pavers, he than ran it over the grass, over the apron of our drive and make long scrapes in the concrete and crumbled the edge!! He was supposed to run it over a board to protect the cement!!

After he left, my neighbor across the street came over to tell me he had walked over earlier and ask the installer what we were having done now,
he said the installers response was quoter "he said you were too pickey and he had to fix some thing" . I could not beleive he would say that to my neighbor. I told my neigbor the problems we had and he agreed with my statement "the money we paid it better be right!"

Next day I called and this time they gave me the owner Sott Klamfoth. He agreed to come over and look at the polymer sand issue etc. He came in the evening when my husband and I could both be there, we discussed all the issues, showed him how the polymer sand pulled right out, he just kept saying quote "what do you want me to do?" We discussed power washing but I said it would make a mess in the grass and leave the rocked flower beds
a mess. I prefered pulling it out, I had already pulled some out & showed Mr. Klamfoth how it pulled right out. Granted pulling it out would take more time because it is a huge area.

After much discussion I agreed to let them try to power wash it, he assured me if it became a mess, we would try something else. He also kept saying what can we do in the future so this won't happen!, well he is the expert, if does not know why it is peeling, why would we know???

We agreed they would do the work on Friday, my husband and I would arrange to be off work so we could be there. It gave us a couple of days to remove our patio furniture, pot etc. so the stickey polymer sand would not get on the furniture. We could also decide iF the power washing would be an issue, you have to understand, each crack has to have the sand sprayed out and it goes everywhere!!!

Next morning when I arrived at work I had a message to call Mr. Klamfoth, he said they were going to our house today, I said there is no way my husband or I could be there and reminded him our agreement was for Friday. Mr. Klamfoth then said to me quote "I don't want YOU THERE!" I said to him our agreement was Friday and we had every right to be there, we did not have the furniture removed etc., He them stated quote " we are going today ".

I told him if he went to may house today I would call the police and my attorney, he stated quote "go ahead, have them meet me there"! Now he is getting hostile and I am getting VERY upset and feeling HARRASSED by Mr.
Klamfoth, I put him on speaker phone so would have my co-workers as witnesses. Again I reminded him our agreement was Friday and he stated quote " I will just and rip out the walk we put in" now I am really feeling HARRASSED and AGAIN reminded him I would call the police if he came near my home. I then hung up and called my husband and told him what happened and he said he would handle it.

My husband then called Mr. Klamfoth and he told my husband same as he had told me, he was doing work today rather we wanted him to or not! My husband then told him if he went to our home while we were not there or now any time or called me he would put a RESTRAING ORDER ON HIM AND HIS COMPANY. He told him he did not want to do that but would if he had to.
Mr. Klamfoth then backed off.

My husband and I were both shocked, the night before he seemed very nice and willing to take care of the problems, although he skirted around the driveway apron damage, and really never addressed the top soil that was put in, he just stated quote " yes, that should have been done "! Anyway we walked to his truck with him, shook hands and said we would see him Friday.

NOW after the way Mr. Klamfoth spoke to us my husband told him he did not want him or anyone from his company at our home. We both felt after his HARRASSING us we could no longer feel comfortable with him or his company.

That same day after he hung up with my husband he faxed him a three pages of what he called internal documentation. NONE of the statements were correct, all made up LIES OR twisted, below is one they twisted:

They said I told my own neighbor I was too pickey! now why would I tell my neighbor that and then tell the installer I said that?? My neighbor read that and could not believe how he lied.

All the statements were ridiclous just like that one in their so called internal documentation!

I corrected each statement with fact and truth and faxed it back to Klamfoth. We also faxed a proposal of what we felt we should pay, we now are stuck with doing repairs our self or hiring someone else. We were very fair in our proposal, they did not agree, they were only willing to give us credit for the polymer sand and labor for installing the polymer and very small amount for the time we are now going to spend repairing, and they never mentioned the driveway apron damage or missing top soil!

We contacted our attorney, he advised us to go ahead and pay what they wanted for now and we could bring HARRASEMENT CHARGES and even a suit.
He felt we had a strong case form all told him and showed him.

After MUCH discussion my husband and I decided at this time not to bother with a suit or HARRASEMENT charges. The time, the cost etc. is just not worth it. Word of mouth is much more effective and a friend told me about Rip Off Reports, we can at least keep a lot of other people from getting
RIPPED OFF BY KLAMFOTH - we have been sharing the fax with all lies in it and people can not beleive it!! NOT VERY PROFESSIOINAL!

We also went to Mr. Mulch on 161 near Sawmill, they told us exactly what happened with the polymer sand, it was installed improperly - we took close up pictures to show them and peices of the polymer we pulled out. They gave us intructions on how to do it ourselves after we pulled all the other up.(took us TWO full days to just pull the polymer sand out, we still have to put the new sand in ANOTHER DAY we have to spend on what we paid Klamfoth to do!!

Bottom line: KLAMFOTH does NOT CARE about its customers!

I FIND THIS HARD TO BELIEVE

 I find this hard to believe. First off Klamfoth Landscaping went from a guy with a mower & weed eater doing side jobs to a million dollar company if not mult-million. Companies don't get where Klamfoth is today being rude, and unprofessional. More importantly Klamfoth has been mowing my grass & doing ll my landscaping at my home for over 14 years now and the past 8 for the company we own. They are always professional, polite, they are there when they are suppose to, work all hours of the night & very long hours doing snow removl when it snows. They show up within the hour when I cll to tell them our prking lot needs plowed/salted & always do excellant work.

I hve had many employees working on our property over the years & the employees names that stick out to me are Rob, Mike, Paul & Aj. All of which were excellnt. As far as the owner Scott. I have dealt with him on numerous occassions he definitely has what it takes to plese a customer and always showed us he knew whaat he was doing, and cared about his customers as well as his company I RATE KLAMFOTH WITH A 9,9 out of 10.....5 STARS........I recommend them highly and have referred many others both residential n commercial all of which were/are pleased with them aas well.
