Kleargear has hidden deep within their terms and conditions (difficult to find) a non-disparagment clause that says quite simply if you buy from them and complain in any way or for whatever reason, they are allowed to bill you for $3500, if you refuse to retract your complaint within 72 hours of their notification. Quite absurd!

This has failed in American courts and will continue to do so, but these scumbags continue to pursue their legions of dissatified customers through their third-party collection agency under the pretense of legal proceedings.

Fortunately, third-party debt collectors are powerless to do anything at all if you file a timely dispute (within 30 days of notice). Simply send a dispute letter, certified mail with return receipt, stating that you dispute the alleged debt in its entirety and demand strict proof of lawful obligation to Kweergear Collection Agency (or whatever). The truth is, you have no lawful debt to any third-party collection agency unless you consent to it or ignore their demand for payment, in which case the debt will be assumed as lawful.

If all people were educated to this legal truth, third-party debt collectors would no longer exist.

Who you are is irrelevant to me...

You are not interesting enough to do research on. If you aren't a Kleargear lackey then you are a related interested party who discredits online complaints.

Agreeing that Kleargear has "gone too far" and then turning around and saying that what they do is perfectly understandable to you and that everyone should ignore online complaints is idiocy. You pretend to pick a side and then betray that side.

You have spent far too much time on this site to be a disinterested party. You are here because it is your business to be here. So yes, you must work for the company. Nice try but no cigar for you.

If you do some searches here you will find I have been participating on Ripoff Rport for years and have posted on many different topics.

This company means nothing to me except that I see many reports here and on many other sites that are clearly just ridiculous rants to damage a companies business.  I expect many companies are tired of that and some are trying to do something about it.  This company clearly has gone too far but I do understand their motive.

If you read many complaint sites, you will find that anytime anyone doesn't agree with with a rebuttal, they drag out the old "you must work for the company" statement.  Believe what you like, it just makes you look sillier.

Thx for the immediate response, Kleargear

Obviously the preceding rebuttal is a  Kleargear representative, maybe even a paid PR lackey. They are notified immediately when a new comment is entered regarding Kleargear.

It would have meant so much more if they had the courage to give a rebuttal in their own name and not under the pretense of some anonymous adoring customer. But we've already seen how Kleargear does business, so this bit of skullduggery is no surprize at all.

Maybe

They may have gone too far, but maybe companies are getting sick of people being willing and able to post nasty made up stories and lies about a company with no repercussions. If someone has a minor disagreement they immediately put all kinds of ridiculous crap all over the internet.

Because it's so common and widespread, many people including me, don't believe anything they read about a company or person and just read these sites for entertainment.

I would not hesitate a second to do business with this company because I would never stoop to posting immature lies all over the internet.

Just because you may have a right to do it doesn't make it right.
