 After purchasing a jointer/ planer from Laguna tools I found everything relatively fine...however, the knives that were installed in my tool were junk. I called my sales rep and he was able to send me new knives...3 replacements were sent for a 4 blade head. I was given a case number and a customer service rep that assured me he would take care of any issues I may have. I noticed the knives were not the same size as the ones installed so I called customer service, he informed me they were correct and that I should not have a problem....the knives do not fit properly period. I have reinstalled the originals with no issue just to prove my point. The knives do not seat properly and have damaged any wood I've run through it and as a small business I cannot afford to buy tools that I cannot use.

These problems should be small if corrected right away, i was very suspect of the guidance I was being given by the customer service guy who didn't know anything ...at one point I was told I had an old machine and that I should know how to work on it if I am going to buy it..he is the same idiot who sent me a crappie youtube link to someone fixing a machine entirely different than mine, not even the same brand!!!! He couldn't tell me anything about the machine and constantly pushed back that it was my problem. I called again and asked for another representative and was 8nformed that my previous rep had been fired because he was known for just telling customers whatever he felt was right...

OK fine he sucked but that's lagunas problem not mine! I emailed Laguna about my displeasure with the experience and was looking forward to a speedy resolution...instead I was emailed a quote for 850.00 to purchase a head that I was told I couldn't buy for my machine!!! After 4 calls to them the receptionist informed me they were aware of my case but were very busy and would call me back... Much to my surprise No Call!!! I cannot afford to have this pile sitting in my shop, Laguna has a the worst customer service I've ever experienced and I would never recommend anyone to buy any product from them ever! If you were planning to buy something from them, I've had a much better experience buying from Hammer and are in the same price range! If you are tempted by Laguna....think again!

To Whom it may concern,

 

Having writen about my recent experience with Laguna Tools, I recieved a phone call from Brian Diaz with Laguna. Brian took the time to thoroughly investigate the case and in fact agreed that the product that i recieved was not what i expected, he offered to correct the problem in any way that he could. He was very quick to apologize for the inconvenience in my previous dealing with customer service and assured me that for undisclosed reasons my previous representative had been seperated from the company. He had the backing of his managment team and was able to negotiate a 100% agreed upon outcome for my issue. I wish that my experience had been better but am very happy with how they handled it at the end.
