Hi, my name is Amanda and i was a regular visitor to a website called poetryamerica.com. One day i noticed a advertisement that read..." submit one of your original poems an win a chance to have it published!" so i did just that. I submitted a poem of mine.

In the details of the on-line submission form it said that i would recieve a letter shortly in the mail.About a month an a half later i recieved a letter from the League of American poets, saying that they wanted to publish my poem in a anthology called voices. a collection of short works. They needed my signature for authorization to publish it an proof that my poem was legit an all 100% mine.League of American poets also included a order form for me to order copies of the book that my poem was to be published in.

I ordered a case of 6, which costed me around $100.I sent the money back to the return address, back in late november-early december of 2007.I have family members who ordered and teachers from my high school who ordered. I also just recently tried contacting them on 2-17-08 at the number that came with the letter, but the number was diconected. I tried a few more times thinking that i dialed the number wrong, but everytime i called, it said the number was no longer in service or disconected.

One of my dreams, goals, was to have my poetry published an i actually thought that it was going to be published.Im 16 years old an my heart is broken and so is my dream of having my poetry published.

I've actually received my book in the mail when I originally ordered it (which was around September of 2007). Yes true, it took a while and they warned me it would take about 1-2 months or 3 I think to publish, I did have to hound them for a while and ensure my money was well spent. It was hard to get through with the phone number (sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't, claimed the right person to speak with was on vacation etc etc), but eventually the book did show up in my mailbox with my published poem. I'm sorry you had such a poor experience with them, as I can truly understand your frustrations. But when I contacted them the lady said the printing company they were working with there was a big issue which meant a delay on the publishing of the books and kindly asked if I'd be patient. I'm not sure if it was my consistency and contacting them almost daily, or the pressure they felt in getting caught if in fact they were trying to do folks unjustly...but facts are, ultimately, I did receive what I ordered from League of American Poets even after I had moved and updated my mailing address.

Here's the contact information I was provided with: 600 Reisterstown Road, Suite 200G, Baltimore , MD 21208
Phone: 410-602-0384 Fax: 410-764-7471
Email: orders@poetryamerica.com

I still have emails from them in my archive. You should find out what happened to your order. Best of wishes to you.
