I had been processing my credit card sales through BankCard since 2009 and leased the Verifone through Lease Finance Group since that time.  In August, 2013, there was an equipment issue and I made several attempts to get resolution, being transferred from one company to another and one customer service person to another.  After several days of frustration, I decided to get SQUARE and cancel BankCard.  That part was done quite easily.  Then, I called to cancel the lease of the equipment.  Since August, 2013, I have called each and every month, and been assured on the phone each time that the lease was indeed, being cancelled.  The Verifone was faulty, and no one had ever mentioned, in any of the calls during the time August-December, 2013, that I needed to return the equipment.  During the first week of January, I moved, and along with boxes of other items, I donated the Verifone to Goodwill.  Today, January 23, 2014, I called Lease Finance Group again, to report that the $48.70 (which has not creeped up to $48.90) was again taken from my bank account.  Today, I was told the following:  1. There is NO Record that I have ever called - ever.  2.  The only way to end the lease would be to return the equipment.  I told the young woman that I have been over this and over this and there is no way there could be no record of my calls to them, and had I ever been asked to mail in the Verifone I would have.  She then said I could fax a letter to her supervison, Ms. Aponte at 212-216-8361.  At this point, I googled Lease Finance Group which on the phone with her and saw the RipOff Report entries and shared this with her and said I will not only contribute to RipOff but also contact the F.T.C. and BBB and anyone else that will possibly listen to me.  She then made an offer to "settle this right now" - that offer was to pay $256.96 over the phone and it will all be done and over with.  I said absolutely not - in fact, Lease Finance Group owes me $48.70 x 5 months (Sept/Oct/Nov/Dec/Jan)- all the months I have been charged after having cancelled.  I'm not sure what my next step will be but I am considering cancelling that bank account so they can no longer withdraw the amount, and let them go into threatening me with collections and see if a lawyer is out there handling a class action against this company.  In the meantime, I will write to Ms. Aponte and fax to the number (which, by the way - in the year 2014 I don't have a land line which means I have to go to Kinkos or Staples to do the fax).
