Levitz Took The Money and Ran ripoff Woodbury New York

Levitz was more than happy to take my money for a replacement cushion I ordered for a sofa I purchased over 2 years ago and is not under any warranty. They insisted on being paid by check, no credit cards.

Yup, you guessed it. Check was cashed long ago and still no replacement cushion. When you call their crappy customer service you get a different story each time and they are THE RUDEST. This last time they claimed they did not even have my name, address, or phone number in their computer system! (Hard to believe since I have an account with them - albeit one that will be closed soon, for sure.)

When I ask to speak to a supervisor they get even ruder and tell me one will "call me back". Yup, never do get those call backs; yet I am on hold an average of 25 minutes each time I call them just to get to speak to a human.

When I email them, they now no longer even return my emails. If you are a victim of this company in any way be advised that the best thing to do is keep complaining to the BBB in your area and MAKE SURE to write to your state's Attorney General's office. When at Attorney General's office gets enough complaints about a company, they will eventually bar them from doing business in that state.

If they have taken money from you take them to small claims court. You need only show proof of how you paid. Odds are they won't show up, and thus they will lose by default. You may have a hard time collecting the money, but since they are currently not in bankruptcy you can again get your Attorney Generals office involved at this point.

If they have ruined your credit, God forbid, GET A LAWYER IMMEDIATELY and sue the pants off them. And file a formal complaint with the Federal Trade Commission @ www.ftc.gov. The FTC also has the power to put fraudulent companies like Levitz out of business if they get enough complaints.

Only thru vigilance and a lot of hard work can we make consumers safer so they don't have to deal with companies like this who should have been put out of business long ago.
