Ibogaine has the potential to aid opiate addicts going through detox. However, the proper and safe ways to administer it for this purpose are not easily available for those who need it. Ibogaine is a relatively new drug to the western world and since it is banned in America, there is a great deal of misinformation surrounding it. If the FDA had truly allowed proper research to take place, then accurate information about its benefits and dangers would be readily available. But since its not, an entire underground has emerged.

An underground of greedy and dishonest individuals who portray themselves as medicine men saviors. But in reality, they are nothing more then a new form of drug dealer. The amount of ibogaine needed to properly aid an opiate addict with detox would never exceed $500. However, so called "clinics" have sprung up all over mexico, canada, costa rica, panama etc charging anywhere from $5000 to $20000. They all have fancy websites that promise a miracle cure while the patient is housed in comfort surround by a professional medical staff.

Me and my boyfriend have been to 4 of these so called ibogaine clinics so far in an attempt to uncover the truth. And so far the truth is that their marketing consists of mostly lies. We are presently visiting others and will soon be releasing detailed information about our findings of each clinic. All so far have been operated by one or two individuals who have no medical experience. They are individuals who have tried ibogaine themselves and seen the opportunity to get rich by selling it to addicts.

And they get away with charging as much as a medically supervised rehab would by up selling their services and facilities on these websites full of misinformation and false promises. None of the 4 we visited so far have a professional medical staff. Its a joke. And the worst so far was Lex Kogan's in Costa Rica. Everything he told me prior to me arriving was a lie or an extreme exaggeration. His so called doctor was never present and his staff of "nurses" were extremely incompetent. His clinic consisted of two residential houses next door to each other.

And while i was there for 10 days, staying in a makeshift room which was really just a hallway, i watched as about 12 addicts came and went, each spending close to $10,000. And none of them left "cured", even tho some believed it for a time. Reality is that Lex Kogan and his associate Eric Taub (FYI these are made up names) make a fortune dosing addicts with ibogaine for a few days and then send them back to their addictions. They are not truly trying to cure addiction. Even though they convince themselves and everyone otherwise, they are in it for the money plain and simple.

If they truly were trying to cure addiction then their fee would go much further than just dosing the addicts for a few days. There would be a true medical staff and facility. And most importantly there would be a general program with aftercare. I have chosen to list Lex Kogan and his partner in crime Eric Taub, well before our report and analysis of all the ibogaine clinics operating today, because so far they have proven to be the most unsavory in the business. And thats quite an achievement in an underground business flush with conmen.

In response to this report by Eric Taub/Richie Ogulnick

AUTHOR: richie - (United States)

POSTED: Monday, December 25, 2017

Hello,

My name is Richie Ogulnick.  I used the name Eric Taub when i began working with ibogaine 24 years ago.  I just happened upon this report yesterday for the first time.  The last time i had words with Lex Kogan was during the last week of December 2014.  A couple weeks later we were no longer involved in any way through business or socially.  This report i am refuting is dated January 2017.  After we lost contact i never referred anyone interested in receiving ibogaine to Lex Kogan.  However, in this report you state that your husband also spoke with me about the situation at hand.  This is not the case as it was already two years since i had any involvement with Lex Kogan.  This is the first i have heard of this story and the people involved.

I'm very sorry for this terrible ordeal.

"Eric Taub" IS Richie Ogulnick of Gainesville, FL.

POSTED: Thursday, October 15, 2015

This is for everyone out there who's been fleeced of money by "Eric Taub", "Lex Kogan", and their "Ibeginagain Center(s)"

ERIC TAUB'S real name is RICHIE OGULNICK.

He does not live in Virginia, or Brooklyn, or any other such place...  He resides in GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA.

You can reach him (as "Richie") @ (((REDACTED)))

Go ahead and give him a call.

When he answers, ask "Is Richie there?"   (...he'll ask who's calling.)

Say: "I'm interested in buying some of your HEANTOS herbal remedy."   (...that'll get him comfortable speaking with you.)

Then, once you've got him on the telephone with you, you can go ahead and ask him:  why he pretends to be "Eric Taub", why he's such a dishonest theif, if he has any conscience whatsoever, how he can live with himself, et...

Have at him people of the internet.     :)

This Report Is Entirely Accurate

AUTHOR: TheTruthWillOut - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 14, 2015

I too have been down to Costa Rica.  Everything said here is true and then some.  The rebuttals which defend Lex were written by his "associates" (such as Shea Pruger, who had been running another outfit for "Eric Taub" on Koh Phangan Island, Thailand, until the local population threatened her, ransacked her place, stole her equipment, and ran her off the island- true story!  She joined "Lex" in Costa Rica in May of 2014).

The so-called "clinic" in the Costa Rican slum of "Atenas" is a run down old house at the end of a winding road so cratered with potholes that it's barely driveable at 3mph.  There is no food in the place for the clients to eat.  There is absolutely NOTHING to do while you're there... not even a chess board or a deck of cards!!!  We all literally stood around all day long everyday bored out of our skulls and starving hungry.  The staff barely spoke English.  Lex was rarely around, and every client there felt as if they'd been bamboozled.  Lex is a salesman on the phone, and the people he's talking to WANT to believe what he says... but once you arrive at the "clinic" it immediately dawns on you that you've been had.  Each client I spoke to had paid a widely varying sum for the exact same services.  Essentially "Lex" (actually "Alexi" or "Alex") takes as much money as he can from each person he interacts with... some are fleeced for a little more than others.

Lex is married to some Costa Rican woman, and he has his wife and baby living with him at the clinic alongside the drug addicts he is "treating". His wife's little brother is the cook at the "clinic".  (FYI He also sells the clients s***** colombian ditchweed marijuana for $10 a gram, cocaine for $50 a gram, and even offered us "amfetaminas"...  One client, a twentysomething from Camden N.J. bought cocaine from Lex's lil' Costa Rican brother-in-law, and then he stole a syringe from the unlocked supply closet, and then he stayed awake all night and shot the entire gram right in his room!  PS He said it was bunk just like the shwagg weed!)

FYI "Eric Taub" doesn't even exist!  It's a fake name.  He also goes by "Richie Ogulnick" and pushes a sham withrawal cure called HEANTOS which originated in Thailand- until the Thai government shut down the creator of HEANTOS for a long list of criminal offences.  Go ahead and google "Richie Ogulnick".  Sorry, "Eric", cat's outta the bag now.  Don't try to deny it, Richie!

These men are con-artists.  Period.  They take advantage of desperate and naive addicts.  Do not trust anything you see on YouTube because it's all staged.  Furthermore, here's what Ibogaine providers won't tell you, so I will:  a flood dose of Ibogaine gives you a couple of days where you feel GREAT and you're riding high (after you endure hell!), and then that riding-high feeling begins to subside... AND THEN 90% OF PEOPLE GO RIGHT BACK TO HAVING SIGNIFICANT WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS A WEEK OR TWO LATER.  This happened to EVERY person I went through treatment with, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US, and I've stayed in touch with these othere clients; and every single one of us went back to opiates within one to three weeks. After a week or two of coping with chicken skins, sleeplessness, and anxiety I'd had enough and returned to opiate use just to feel "normal" again.

The most disturbing thing I witnessed was a client from Seattle who had to be rushed to the emergency room in San Jose because he was dangerously dehydrated and none of the "medcial staff" could get an I.V. in!  They must have stabbed the poor guy fifty times!  Apparently when this guy went to the hospital he told the doctors there exactly what he had taken, why he had come to Costa Rica, and that he was a recovering opiate addict.  Well, when Lex found this out he EXPLODED.  He literally was screaming at this poor guy that "his clinic could get shut down and it would be all his fault".  Lex is terrified of either local law enforcement or the local medical community becoming more aware of his operation. Anyway, he screamed at this fragile fellow until the guy was almost in tears.  And this was a client who had paid seven grand USD for the "treatment" mind you!!   He yelled until veins were popping out of his neck and every client had come out of their rooms to see what all the commotion was about. It was full-blown "drug addict behavior" if I've ever seen it.

As if all this wasn't disturbing enough I learned today that Richie Ogulnick and "Lex" actually killed a man in Mexico (his name was Mr. De'Angelo and he died undergoing treatment while under Lex's care); so Richie and Lex packed it up and got outta Mexico with a quickness.  They re-opened in Atenas.

Lastly, let me say this:   It is my understanding that when administered properly Ibogaine is highly effective and can offer a window of up to six months without cravings.  So, I wouldn't throw the baby out with the bath water.  I will likely take ibogaine again in the coming year with a different provider.  I believe it's worth another attempt.  But the importance of aftercare cannot be underemphasized.  An Ibogaine treatment may very well leave you mentally fragile and emotionally vulnerable for months afterward as your brain balances itself and returns to regular function. Taking a flood dose and then just getting on a plane a week later and returning to your old surroundings WILL NOT WORK.  And guys like Richie and "Lex" know this... but they make a killing flood dosing drug addicts and then sending them straight back to their addictions with no aftercare of any kind.  Hell, what d'they care?  They've already been paid.

Ibogaine is good medicine.  Ibogaine is not the problem.  Con artists like Richie and Alex are the problem.  Run, don't walk, from these guys!

yes i had a positive experience

AUTHOR: johnson - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, July 04, 2015

well....i am here to respond and say i did have a positive experience. coming down so hard on lex makes it seem like this is very very personal. if you have been to the center you know it is not just lex.......it is a whole team of people, a few who are there day and night. if you have been you would have spoken to a couple of these people on the phone  before going down. i went to your link and it seems disengenious. if attention from lex is all you claim to want then you went to the wrong place. but i felt safe... with a large staff who were always having fun and paying attention to us while knowing what they were doing, it was all i needed. and i left clean...off of drugs....not even depressed!!! i knew ahead of time who would be picking me up at the airport and who would be at the house when i first arrived. i dont know...for anyone who has really had a treatment from them....i just think there are many good experiences and someone with a personal vendetta against lex is really going hard on him. i would send any friend or family member down to lexs center.

Lex is a con artist, I don't know how anyone has had a positive experience

http://ibogaine-clinic.pissedconsumer.com/tag/lex-kogan.html I went there last year and was sorely disappointed with my stay. Lex is a good salesmen on the phone, but once you get down there you realize that it was a scam. I was desperate to try anything but researched a lot and felt hopeful, I feel like an idiot for doing it with Lex in Costa Rica and I want to warn others about him. I think ibogaine has potential to be a great tool to help people off heroin, but at the moment the high profit margins are bringing scum bags like this claiming to be healers.

That is a false "report"

AUTHOR: Cosmic Bark - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, March 19, 2015

That "report" is completely BOGUS, and it is clearly a competitor trying to defame Lex Kogan. I was treated by Lex and it was an incredible experience! Lex is in it for the right reasons and he is not getting rich doing it.
Don't trust this person's false account. Simply watch any of the numerous video testimonials at Root Revolution of people who were treated by Lex. These are REAL people, on camera, telling about their experience; not someone hiding their true identity and defaming Lex anonymously in order to hurt his business.

Lex Kogan, and Eric Taub are not who the plaintiff claim! They are who exactly who they say!

AUTHOR: The Foundation For Awesomeness - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 17, 2015

Thank you for the oppertunity to address this hanis accuasation. I have known Lex Kogan for several years know. He has become like a brother / family to me. I first became aquainted with Lex while trying to help someone else find a soulution to their oppiate / other addictons. Lex was excellent though out the whole process. We let him know from the start that we didn't know how we would pay for this service. He didn't worry about that at all and continued to speak with us on a regualr basis (some times daily, sometimes weekly, give or take). He was kind, inspiring, motivating, caring, and very informative. He ended up giving us a break on the price, and a payment plan for the treatment so we would be able get the treatment for the person in neeed sooner than later. The staff was excellent. The doctor met with the patient in need of treatment several times before the treatment, and made arangements for additional last miniute concernes at a hospital due to concerns about potential heart problems (mentioned by the patient after ariving at the clinic, but addressed before the treatment) which ended up being nothing (as noted in the EKG adminsited at Lex's clinic by the Doctor on staff her heart was fine).

The additional care was greatly appreaciated. Durring the entire stay the staff were attentive, cooked for us, did our laundry, there is a massuse on staff, and they even pick you up and drop you off at the airport. This is all included in the cost, and there were no hidden fees, or costs. The treatment was amazing. I also had a treatment done, but more for myself than for additicion. I did however like to drink at times before the treatment. Lex gave us a group rate at a significant discount. My experience was one of a kind, and a life changing event that has had a lasting effect on my life for the better. I learned so many things about myself on my journey, and continued to feel the benefits of the treatment for months after. Infact I had some experiences 14 months later that linked directly to things that came to me durring the dream state. It was amazing. I was so elated, and as it happened I was on the phone with Lex, and a friend (who I reffered) who was taking another person down for treatment (on his dime). My experiece continues to unfold. It is beautiful. I went in to the treatment with a feeling of the world being lifted from my shoulders. It was such a releif. My after the treatment I continued to learn many things about myself, that only made life better. If you think you can just stoll in get a treatment and not plan to fix the issues that lead to the need of a treatment like this you are wrong. This treatment give a big window of months, to address the underlying issues that lead to the treatment. Things like ego, fear, anxiety, depression, not loving ones self properly, diet, nutritiion, exercise, etc... If you want to be healthy, and not fall back into your old ways take responsabilty for your life and do something about it, and don't give up. Don't play the blame game. It appears that the the author of this article didn't learn anything form this treatment... If they even actually got treated. They say they were there for 10 days. Why so long? A treatment doesn't take ten days.

I have done much research on Ibogaine before I went to Lex's facility. Also Eric Taub, is an amazing person as well. I have had many converstations with him. He is a very caring person. If this comaintant knew, actually knew Eric at all they would would not be slandering him. In addition to this they plainly stated in there complaint that they went to write an article about Ibogaine clinics. Who was paying for this? I don't see a journalist footing the bill to go to all of these places, spend all that money and hope to get published. It sounds like in the compaint that they didn't even do the treatment. If they did odds are they would not just keep going around from clinic to clinc, having treatment after treatment. I personally have contacted many facilitys, and have spoken to many indiviuals who have been to other facilitys, and everyone of them says Lex's treatment and facility was the best they experiened. I have also stayed in contact with many of the people I became aquinted / friends with durring my time at Lex's facility, and they all got a fresh start, and are grateful for there time there. I believe so much in this treatment I have been working on stating a non-profit to help people get sponsored for this treatment since it is expensive, but worth while. Everybody diserves a chance at redemption.

Be committed, have faith.

Blessing be up you all.

Allegations Not True

AUTHOR: Robert - ()

POSTED: Friday, January 24, 2014

I have known Eric for about 15 years. During that time he has ALWAYS presented himself with total integrity. He has  treated many people, including me, very successfully. It is well known that Ibogaine offers a unique window of opportunity to addicts, as it can stop all craving for their drug of choice with little or no withdrawal, but is not a mgic bullet. An addict MUST address deeper issues and want to stop on all levels. Eric has always charged much less money than other clinics of which I am aware. I sense that this "report" may have been filed by a jealous competitor, since it presents a totally distorted picture.

MY experience with Lex Kogan

AUTHOR: Ottawa Canada - ()

POSTED: Monday, April 29, 2013

well  for my part at least,   i can say that ibogaine has saved me from my opiate addiction and all thanks to  Lex  who  had the staff  to make sure  everything went well..  the ibogaine  had caused my heart to slow  down  considerably,  but  the doctor and nurses  had me stabilised in minutes using  various  monitoring and  respiratory equipment..   the treatment  in its self  wasnt the easyest thing to deal with, both on a physical and psychological level..  however it beat by far  doing any kind of Methadone or  suboxone treatment..  as ive never really felt  this good since  before i started using...  im  about 1 month after my treatment now  and  have  no "need" to use opiates..   Ibogaine  will allow  one to  understand the underlying cause of theyre  addiction and  will  also offer ''protection''  against withdrawal symptoms wich would normally  occur over a span of weeks if not months after the last intake of any  opiates..  i beleive Lex kogan is  probably one of the most experienced ibogaine dispenser and even maybe  the most fairly priced  as  the treatment only cost  7000$  i say only  because 1 year of methadone prsecription ended up costing me about 8000 and i was still  a slave to opiates..       for any  ibogaine  treatment  one must  send an ECG  OR "electro cardiogramme" in order to make sure  the patients heart will  sustain the ibogaine flood..  however  while  staying  at lexs  facility  there had been a problem with one of the patients not sending in a copy of her ECG  prior to arriving in Costa Rica....  therefore   after learning that this patient had had  heart surgery only  months prior   Lex and the doctor had to abstain from administring the ibogaine Hcl . wich would  most certainly cause anyone in opiate withdrawal to feel aggravated and  disenchanted with the whole ibogaine thing.. however  this whole mess  could have been avoided with a simple  EKG test and a fax machine...       to anyone  considering ibogaine  i say  go for  it...  i did  and  dont regret it one bit..  only  make sure  you have medical staff on site..  for the rest  its  all about  comfort really.. and there was no lack of it  with my own  bathroom and  queen bed      i couldnt   ask  for much more  maybe  only  just  a bit of  attenttion to the set and mood  during the treatment  oh  and  bilingual nurses wouldnt  hurt :)  but  besides  that   props to lex  and  all the  lives  hes saved including my own!

Opposite opinion on this one.

AUTHOR: Nadia Geirsson - ()

POSTED: Monday, April 29, 2013

All right, wow.

So, I've done two sessions with Lex Kogan and neither of them were remotely similar to this report. In fact, it shocks me to read any of this and I have high doubts if any of it is factual. I'm going to tell about my experience and if anyone wants more info, I'd be happy to talk to them and I also recommend doing more research on more factual sites than something like this. A few things point out to me that this is fake and part of that has to do with the pricing. I guarantee if you call up Lex Kogan and/or Eric Taub right now you won't hear anything close to $10,000.

I met Eric Taub about two and a half years ago. I was a miserable opiate addict for about eight years. I had spent many years on longterm maintenance meds methadone and suboxone. Eric Taub met me in person for tea and really helped me get on the path of doing ibogaine. I switched to a short acting opiate for 90 days and then went to central America to meet Lex Kogan. I couldn't have asked for better care. Lex was attentive, genuine, and more than flexible with my needs. The doctor was competent and present. The nurses were actually overly attentive and I felt mildly annoyed a couple of times that they were too good at their jobs. I left Lex Kogan's place not only off of opiates, but off of nicotine, as well.

So I stayed clean and anytime I needed anything or had any questions, Eric Taub and Lex were right there and more than willing to talk. Lex's name is real. Eric Taub openly uses a pseudonym and will give you his real name without hesitation.

Several months ago I decided to do ibogaine again, this time for psychotherapeutic purposes, and Lex was more than happy to have me. I have to disagree again with this poster. I felt medically safe, while feeling at home at the same time. I had a nice bedroom with a view and my own bathroom. I didn't pay anywhere close to $10,000. The center was full while I was there and everyone was happy, safe, and accommodated for.

I stayed clean because I wanted to stay clean. It wasn't easy by any means. I couldn't have done it without the ibogaine, but the ibogaine experience, while profound, was abrasive and brutal. So that I can see being difficult if you aren't really ready to do the work.

I would recommend any friend or family to Lex and Eric. Their medical knowledge is outstanding and impressive and I feel the same about their character. I urge anyone who has had experiences similar to mine to share as I wouldn't be here clean and sober without them and I find it highly disturbing that someone has spent the time fabricating such a story about two really good people.
