The Worse Buying Experience in our Entire Lives. The OLD BAIT and SWITCH.I'm turning them into the AG office!!! Seniors!!!! Please think before you buy from these people!!! We were not born yesterday. We own a Lexus and love it. After over 13 years it was time to buy a new car. I began to shop around and was given an excellent quote by our local dealer. We did a bit more internet research via truecar.com and it listed this dealership as meeting our financial purchase price goal. I called and spoke with Jabari Fowler, he asked us to give him an opportunity to beat the price we had gotten from our local dealer. This dealership was over 2.5 hours away and I explained to Mr. Fowler we were not in the best of health and this was going to be a very long and difficult drive for us. I asked him to make certain he had what we were looking for which was a RX 350 NO WHITE NO RED!!! I quoted him the price from our local dealer he begged me to hold off even tho we were getting ready to walk out the door, this was at approx. 1:45 pm. Jabari called back and said YES! I have a Gold one, (our first chose) YES! I have a silver one! YES I have a gray one! And, here's the price $ XXXXXX; beating the quoted price by just over 2k. I said we will be there and are leaving now. We walked in approx 4 in the afternoon. Fowler was with people but came out of his office and said someone would be with us shortly to show us the cars..

We waited and waited and WAITED and WAITED. Finally, Fowler comes back out and says someone will be right with you. NO ONE came. Another 1/2 hour past and finally someone came out and drove us out to the lot to look for the cars we came to see. We could not find ONE. Back inside we go, about 20 minutes later a sales person named Mark says he'll show us the cars since Fowler is still busy. So he takes us out in the golf cart drops us off and says look at this row and that one, are assignment was to check all their prices, in the heat, one of us recovering from a heart attack and cancer and we are just left to go car to car looking for the cars that Fowler said he had.. We could find NONE. BACK AGAIN into the office when Mark says he's going to help us. The same thing, back into the cart that takes you to no where other than cars that were priced thousands more than Fowler quoted us. It was hours after we arrived, we did nothing but running around to find nothing. NOT one time did Mark or ANYONE check the computer for inventory!!!! That says so much doesn't it? We had our own financing, I had worked for a dealership before and knew this was a simple, easy no hassle transaction. However Fowler turned it into a Switch and Bait and NOT ONCE after all the hours we were there did the manager come and speak to us. Like it was a big game, to them. Mark gave me a lecture about forgiveness, not appreciated at all, as this was physically demanding on us, and we saw their attempt to emotionally wear us down. Unbelievable and we truly hope for the sake of other seniors that the Attorney General's Officer will take our complaint seriously enough. EVERY car that Fowler claimed he had did NOT exist! NOT ONE, except, a WHITE one! White being the color with the absolute NO without question.

We ended up settling for a car, feeling ripped off and unhappy, not even having test drive the car, I know we should have just walked away, the only good experience was the finance person, Rocky. Bless him. Shame on Jabari Fowler and Shame on the GM for not defusing this situation. While Mark helped us, I know the business to well to know why he was sent in. I don't want to hear about God, I don't want to know anything personal about you, I just want what you promised me. We got a quick 5 minutes show on what was what on the car, the clock wasn't even set when we drove it off the lot. No test drive, and yes, again, we should have just walked away, but by this time it was after 9 pm, and it wasn't the car that was the problem, it was the disgraceful, distasteful, horrible treatment we received from this dealership.

Simple Question

If the service was so appalling and horrible, why didn't you just leave and buy the original vehicle you found closer to home?

This is turing into Fun so thank you!

AUTHOR: Tobee - ()

"NO one said you worked for a dealership."

you implied you did, and your ignorant tone certainly matched your responses

On 8/18 you wrote, "i don't want or need an exchange of nasty immature words which is exactly what one would expect, and of course the lack of professionalism one would expect coming from your dealership... i could have gone 40 minutes to get the car we ended up with, not the ones were found at your dealership yesterday."

do you have a clue what a rhetorical stayment is? i know that's a somewhat oxy moron question.

At the time you wrote that I was the only person that had responded to your report so it's clear that your comments on 8/18 were directed at me.

lol! YOU, never would i ever direct a question at
YOU. i was writing and venting on a site which was designed to expose
bad experiences in all fields of business and life. don't be so
egotistical! i would never direct a question to someone that is
incapable of answering. in as much as you personally not attacking me,
you did exactly that, totally while also suggesting our experience was
unfounded and you saw nothing wrong with what happened. you are
qualified and lack the philistinism to draw any such conclusion. you
have no right to attack anyone one. we are lucky in this state; as there
i are special laws governing the
segregation and discrimination of people such as ourselves. think before you write. again, while i may not type well, always having secretaries, i know how to get our point across.

you
personally have vitalized us twice. we were on this site to vent and
tell our story NOT be attack nor have someone the likes of you defend
the position of  what happened to us. comments such as "take a paint
brush" or no contract was breached, are so inappurtenat and
inappropriate, you should never take such a liberty to make yourself
sound so ignorant. i mean this only to help you improve yourself. it
makes you lack such credibility when you say things that are so
blatantly incorrect.  as i suggest to you, go back to school, education yourself in law, or don't answer with off the wall answers.

"STOP and go to law school like I have and undertand what BAIT and SWITCH means"

I never disputed your claim of bait and switch. On 8/19 I clearly stated that I believe that did happen. After you felt deceived you rewarded the dealer with a purchase. You were not ripped-off.

since i do pro bono work i know what a rip off is. this is one. a BAIT and SWITCH is a rip off, just for you to know.

"You are nasty and a wasted sad person. (you see i can attack personally as well)."

I did not launch a personal attack against you. Even after you have attacked me I have not attacked you personally."

you most certainly did, attempting to minimize what happened to us. a person with cancer and just having a heart attack driven into a hot parking lot and told to find their car, buyers remorse, never mentioned, unhappy with purchased never mentioned, again, this has been great venting for us if nothing else. although after i finish my work today i am hoping to contact the admin of this site.. as i'm certain the mission of this site is not to attack someone because they are venting about an experience that was horrible to them.

when i spend 45k on car i expect at least a bit of polite service, not feet kissing, but i don't expect lie afer lie after lie.

be careful the way you treat people it comes back to you ten fold, and just because for you it was fine that a salesperson got us there on a BAIT and SWITCH, wouldn't give us the opportunity to drive the car, didn't provide the correct paper work, kept us there under false pretense for hour after hour, and we got terrible service, may not justify a complaint to you, you need to just stay out of it and not response..

i'm not attacking you, i am attacking your words, so think before you write them.. this is now as i said fun for us!

Are you on Something?

AUTHOR: Tobee - ()

NO one said you worked for a dealership. I am not certain out the drugs you are taking but you need to read more carefully, (although i really don't type well, i at least stick to the point.

NO one said half the things you are responding to. Really and sadly, take youself somewhere to get help. Don't make up stories so you can attack people. RE READ our compalint. WE LOVE OUR CAR. do you get that. WE DO NOT LOVE LIARS....

simple so you can understand on your thinking level

"SWITCH AND BAIT" A sales tactic in which a customer is attracted to sale after the saleperson quotes a price and then either encourages or does not have the product that lured the customer to the premises"

GOT THAT? take each word take out your dictionary and look up the meaning of everyone single one of them. in the law, proofs come in all different ways. i'm trying to be nice here although i understand your thinking level is limited. you need to understand what you are writing and have some basis to back it up. i do a ton pro bono work, usually not with those that are mentally challeged, but i thought i might help you to get a least a small glimmer of reality. now, shut you mouth and do not respond to our experience anymore as you are not here to be helpful or productive, just sick, got that clear enough.

Buyer's Remorse

AUTHOR: coast - ()

"we also never said we were unhappy with the purchase just the dealership unreprehensible behaviors"

On 8/18 you wrote, "We ended up settling for a car, feeling ripped off and unhappy, not even having test drive the car"

"i don't want or need an exchange of nasty immature words which is exactly what one would expect, and of course the lack of professionalism one would expect coming from your dealership."

I wrote nothing that was nasty or immature. Your false accusation that I work for the Lexus dealership was childish. I asked you if you were prepared to provide proof that you were a victim of bait and switch but I never disputed your claim. (The fact is that I believe it did happen). Your forgave them for their deception when you chose to purchase a vehicle.

"NO ONE would make a 5 hour round trip to get ripped off."

Nothing in your complaint indicates that you were ripped off. The transaction is a rip-off if the seller failed to honor the terms of the written agreement. You did not make that claim. You appear to be suffering from a case of buyer's remorse.

Site Manager Please Take Note

AUTHOR: Tobee - ()

we are appauled at the responses from this site.

we heard this was an site that took complaints seriously and were advocates for the consumers. as one reads the ignorant replies: take a paint brush, (we don't have a white car) if anyone with any intelligence would have read our sincere complaint the site administration should never allow such responses. why? beause we are sincere about the terrile experience we had while those that responded are beyond ruining your site.

it is safe to take into consideration that this site has gone down the tubes as well, not that a good honest response would not have been appreciated. in it's stead, we get these terrible ignorant disconnected responses that do not closes resemble or address any of the issues.

i will not recomment this site as a legit place to air your tale, you need some grown ups here that can provide some valuable and real imput, another shame. to air a terrible expereince and be allowed to get attacked. and, while it's important that all are absolutely entitled to their opinion, that should entail sticking with the issue as opposed to openingly attacking people that have had such a terrible experience. again, those responses are disconnected, immature, uneducated and rude....they represent this site with the same mentality as what we experienced and it is apparent that this site doesn't care as well.

Hey Toobe or Doo be...

AUTHOR: Jim - ()

I read and re-read what Coast said.  There was NOTHING disrespectful  in his/her response...NOTHING!  Apparently no one can say anything to you without you taking issue with them.  How dare, anyone say anything but agree with DOOBE or TOOBEE or whatever the hell you call yourself.  You don't like white?  No problem.  Get the paint and brushes at Lowes and you can change it in about an hour.

AUTHOR: Tobee - ()

suggestions:

STOP quoting out of context

STOP whatever you are doing and GET and EDUCATION

STOP twisting our words to make them fit an argument that you have created in your own mind

STOP and read carefully the basis for our complaint

STOP and got to law school like I have and undertand what BAIT and SWITCH means legally YOU ARE CERTAINLY IN TO POSITION TO DETERMINE WHAT HAPPENED.

STOP wasting your time, and writing words that are completely and totally disconnented with our complaint

Again, not wasting our time anymore on this site, hope the Admins that run this place find some grown up educated people that have some real input iAND UNDERSTAND WHAT BAIT and SWITCH situations are.

Site the actually LAWS in this STATE please, I CAN.

I was so tempted to leave this alone, now we will put the site on black and just make certain REAL sites understand this is no place to air a ligit complaint.

You are nasty and a wasted sad person. (you see i can attack personally as well). Spend you empty useless ingnorant words on others. GO AWAY YOU NOTHING

Too S

AUTHOR: Tobee - ()

we also never said we were unhappy with the purchase just the dealership unreprehensible behaviors, your answers are a testimony to the continuous unprofessional and nasty behavoris we found displayed during our buying experience.

we never said we didn't like our car, we feel ripped off because of what happened, NOT because of the car. so get it straight or wait to have someone that is managment answer as opposed to making you look even worse. however, again, i'm so pleased  you helped our case by answering the way you did. who would want to go to a dealership that responded the way you did.

Just as Expected an Disrespectful Response

AUTHOR: Tobee - ()

we are not playing t**t for tatt here. yes, i can provide proof. i don't want or need an exchange of nasty immature words which is exactly what one would expect, and of course the lack of professionalism one would expect coming from your dealership. deal with the facts here. we were given a price, took the ride, lied too, told the cars were there and they were not. that is switch and bait. are the cars there? where they there yesterday? i could have gone 40 minutes to get the car we ended up with, not the ones were found at your dealership yesterday. your tactics and response are not only surprising, they are expected from such terrible people.

just a common sense note, NO ONE would make a 5 hour round trip to get ripped off. do not bother to respond with anymore unintelligent, disrespectful and unuseful comments. i'm so glad you responded the way you did, not everyone can see what we were dealing with.

Happy Motoring!

"I had worked for a dealership before... Switch and Bait... we saw their attempt to emotionally wear us down."

Apparently you didn't make use of your prior experience, because you are unhappy with your purchase, you feel ripped off and you didn't take it for a test-drive. Are you prepared to provide proof that you were a victim of bait and switch?
