 An insurance policy holder of Liberty Mutual insurance hit my car while I was legally parked in a parking lot. I was sitting inside of the vehicle at the time of the accident. This incident was documented through an incident report through the Palm Beach Police Department in Florida. This policy holder, Karen A. Friend stated that she was sorry twice at the scene of the accident. The manager of TooJay's, the diner in which Karen A. Friend works also came out and witnessed the damage. After starting the claim, Liberty Mutual Group claims representative Nick Bruni told me over the phone that this was a very minor insurance claim and that he did not see any reason why the damage to my car wouldn't be repaired. I have pictures of the damage to Karen A. Friend's vehicle as well as the damage to my own vehicle. I sent those to Nick Bruni. He then asked me to take a ruler and measure the damage to my vehicle so that they could process my claim. Nick Bruni then stopped answering my calls and emails. Eventually my insurance agent called him for an explanation. Nick Bruni stated that his client, Karen A. Friend was claiming that she never hit my vehicle and that there was no contact between the vehicles. Nick Bruni and Liberty Mutual have since stopped returning my calls. I am planning to take legal action in small claims court to have my vehicle repaired. I would like for Liberty Mutual to repair the damage to my vehicle caused by their client, Karen A. Friend. Liberty Mutual is concluding that because I do not have witnesses that my claim must be denied. This is unethical and fraudulent. A Palm Beach Police officer, Officer Sanchez came to the scene and determined that there was in fact damage to both vehicles. He filed an accident report that states that my vehicle was legally parked and he estimated the damages to both vehicles. The driver, Karen A. Friend did not dispute hitting my legally parked vehicle at the time of the accident. I plan to subpoena Palm Beach Florida Police Officer Sanchez. Again, Agent Nicholas Bruni stated to me over the phone that this was a very minor accident and that he saw no reason why my claim would be denied. I believe that Liberty Mutual is an unethical and fraudulent entity. Consumers should be very wary of engaging in business with Liberty Mutual and their claims representative Nicholas Bruni. Anyone who conducts any kind of business with Karen A. Friend should be extremely cautious.
