 On 3/22/14 my wife and I decided on Liberty Tax to complete our taxes. We went into the office. We had all materials necessary and went through the process. The associate said she could not complete the paperwork and needed to give it to her supervisor and that we would be contacted within 48 hours(3/24/14). We were asked to pay $262 for the work that was completed. We left our last years taxes as well as our information for 2014 assuming and being told everything would be there when we returned. We received no phone call. We called back 48 hours later requesting an update and again we were told to wait for the call. A few days later we were contacted and told the taxes were ready to be signed. Again we went to the location at the time we were asked and no one was there to help. Finally, we were contacted and signed the tax forms. We received our Federal return on 3/31/14. About a week later we received a letter in the mail from the State of Maryland stating we owed monies. Again we contacted Liberty Tax and were told to wait from a call from a supervisor. We received a call on 04/04/14 asking that we come back to address the error. We went back on 04/09/14 and the person we were supposed to meet was not there. We left the Maryland bill and were told we would be called back when it was addressed. Over the course of the next few weeks we left messages and no one returned the calls. On 04/23/14 we called Liberty Tax Headquarters to address the issue. We were told they would contact the owner and he/she would contact us. Again, no call. On 04/25/14 we called HQ again to address the issue. My ticket was "elevated." No one called until 04/28/14(two weeks after taxes are required to be submitted). The "owner" said we should meet her in the office during their business hours of Thursdays 10am-6pm. On May 1,8 & 15 2014 we went to the office during business hours and no one was there, no calls answered. I contacted HQ again on 5/15, 16 & 20. No one has returned our request. Currently Liberty Tax has last years and this years tax documents, all our personal information and it appears they are not willing to give our proprty back or follow through on their services.
