They flood Craigslist with job positions. They claim they are International finance and banking firm. Their compensation: $3,700/month plus benefits. This is a full-time, in-house job. They don't want people to apply if they only want to work part-time or from home, although if you work full time you can "later take some of your work home".

When you submit your resume to them they reply back at (12:17am in the morning) telling you their interested and that someone from the HR department will contact you, although the person sending you this email is Robert Peterson the HR manager. They tell you that you'll receive more emails on their interview process later. He signs his name with

All the best,
Robert Peterson
HR Manager
Lingja., Careers Department
www.lingja.com

Then when you check out the company they only have an Home, About Us, and Careers. They claim to be one of the "largest international finance firms" yet when you research them they have no result from google. Even their own website does not show up as #1. Meaning they are fake.

When you whois  lingja.com they hide behind domainsbyproxy.com to conceal their address and information on who, when, and where this website was registered. *But you can most definitely tell this is a scam website because domainsbyproxy started to support them December 22, 2009. Google lingja at gmail and live and you will find they have numerous job posts after this date.

(OH yeah, what company uses gmail and live to get applications?)

Ok then they send you another email the very next day. They tell "You and 3 other candidates have been shortlisted for the job vacancy and will all be scheduled for an interview as soon as possible." But "Due to the recent economic troubles, our company now requires all applicants to be in good credit standing before we interview you."

So they "arranged a special free service for our applicants" at freeecreditcheck.com.
"Once you have your credit check in place please send me an email confirmation as soon as possible and inform me about your credit score standing and then we will confirm your interview schedule.During the interview you will be asked to present the soft copy of your credit standing for company documentation and proof."

Then the idiot spammer signs:

All the best,
Robert Peterson
HR Manager
PIV Corp., Careers Department
http://www.lingja.com/

*What? Wait a minute who is PIV Corp?

I did some more research on this PIV Corporation and discovered that a Robert Peterson works their too and that numerous people have already reported stories of this job scam on ripoffreport.com

Overall this is illegal. You must have written consent in your application to request a credit check of any employee, as stated by Federal Law.

Freecreditcheck.com is also not a national credit report agency and this tells you that they are also a scam.

It's so wrong to see evil, sick, and twisted people like this take advantage of any ones personal and professional identity. This is serious and if any one feel violated or mislead report it to the FCRA, NCLC, FBI, BBB, and an attorney.

Also report the email address to the the domain and have them shut the account out!

True Scam

The domain registration of freecreditcheck.com is also 'private' indicating a phony operation. I suspect they are harvesting information for identity theft purposes or signing up people for scam offers without them knowing it. Very slick.

The lingja.com site is a joke. Took about 5 minutes to create. The private registration is always a big red flag.

Now the SSL cert used by freecreditcheck was issued by Verisign. They would have the identity of the person who ordered it. Worth a check...........
