I purchased a pair of earrings a month ago.  I used a third-party voucher to pay.  I never received anything.  I called to resolve and not only did they say "Once the USPS says it's delivered, it's out of our hands, "  but then the rep told me they would, as a COURTESY, conduct an investigation that would take 2 weeks.

When I reacted to her statement, she said, now remember, I don't have to do this because we already sent it out to the correct address, blah, blah, blah.  MAYBE they will send a new pair once the investigation is complete and they determine that something happened.  (?)  So then I asked for a refund.  No refund.

The best was, "We don't owe you anything because you paid through a third party so you have to contact them since the purchase was actually made through them."  I commended her on her ability to memorize the script- and added that her employer has learned to wash their hands of all responsibility.  It's just a cheap pair of earrings but it's the principle of the matter.  They ripped me off - so far.  We'll see what happens.  I warned them I have a big mouth and use it well.

Third Party

AUTHOR: EricJ - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, February 03, 2013

By third party, you mean the company you purchased the voucher with, which is probably Groupon, AmazonLocal, SocialLiving, AAADeals, etc, etc.  The company who provides the product is NOT at fault when your item is lost.  The majority of these companies don't ship the item's themselves, and the ones that do use the US Postal Service.  In the case of Liquidation Channel, they only use the US Postal Service, with the initial handling done by DHL.

If they state your item was delivered, it's because they have a tracking number showing delivery.  That means that your local postal carrier scanned the package as delivered.  So either the package was delivered and you didn't see it (doubtful), it was scanned incorrectly by the carrier (possible), it was misdelivered to the incorrect address (probably), or it was stolen out of your mail (probably).

Either way, it's not the companies fault.  And yes, it probably was a courtesy that they offered to do all of that for you.  Remember, they have NO proof that you're not some swindler who's lying to get a free item.  They even offered to do an investigation for you.

And yes, they do not owe you anything.  The company you purchased from is the one to refund your money.  I can't order from Walmart.com and then demand a refund from Sony, because my DVD player never arrived.

Perhaps you should read up on all the issues with these "third party" sites and the issues they're having at this time.  Blasting a company online for something they have no part in just seems petty.
