A sales person came to our home selling christian videos and totally played on our emotions telling us that these videos would be good for our family becuase we were newlyweds preparing to have children. We specifically asked the individual if we purchased the videos and later were in finacial hardships if we could cancel buying the Living Scriptures product. The salesman specifically told us that we could cancel at any time!!! This was definitely not the case.

Six months later having financial hardships as many newlywed couples do we tried to find places where we could cut back the bills obviously the videos were a great place to start. When we wanted to cancel, the company told us that we could only cancel if we payed the commision of the salesman which by the way was $650.00 THAT'S CRAZY!!

We did not pay it and kept sending the videos back to the company. The Living Scriptures company turned us into collections and our credit has been totally ruined. We had trouble getting better auto insurance and other important financial issues have come up. All because of these videos that are supposed to promote Christian values. Excuse my french but my butt!

This company is nothing short of criminal. What company goes about making people sign contracts for their product then doing everything they can to ruin them if they decide that the product is not working for the individuals. LIVING SCRIPTURES DOES!!!

BE VERY CAREFUL THIS COMPANY IS SHADY!

Another smug response from Joe...

Joe, what you NEVER seem to address is the fact that Living Scriptures salesmen are lying and decieving people to get them to sign up. I can only assume you never address it because you know it is happening and don't care. It is part of your company policy to trick people into signing their finances away. That is what defines a crooked company and a scam. Later, you want to shrug off your responsibility for the problems people get into by saying "they signed up." But they were lied to when they did and that makes the company and all those working for it responsible for the problems caused. LS is dishonest and a scam and i don't believe anyone associated could ever answer the question, "Are you honest in all your dealings?" in the affermative.

The DVD's offered by Living SCriptures are in deed good for young families, even those who do not yet have children. Parents are able to watch good wholesome entertainment while at the same time strenthening their knowledge and understanding of gospel stories ans scripture passages. They later pass that knowledge on to their children.

Living SCriptures prefers that a cutomer honor their contractual commitment to purchase the product they ordered, however from time to time if a customer wishes to "break" the contract they may do so by paying a fee as called for in the purchase agreement. The fee not only offsets the commission paid to an independant sales agent, but also covers cost of the bonus product the customer receives, as well as royalty fees paid to investors, etc.

Over time as the contract matures and a customer balance is reduced, the fee to break the contract is also reduced. Media product is usually not eligible to be returned because "used" product can not be returned to stock and sold as new. Product still in "shrinK" wrap is often ineligible for return due to the time frame customers keep the product in their homes,as the products carry a limited warrantee period.

Living Scriptures does not ruin a customer's credit; customers take responsibility for their purchases and payments with any company. If a contract is in the arrears, it is the customer who failed to make payment. Living Scriptures takes every opportunity possible to assist customers who are struggling financially. Living SCriptures offers "holds" on accounts for extended perioods, offer reductions in the amount of merchandise shipped monthly, offer extended time periods between shipments and when necessary take partial payments. There is no reaso to report an account to credit reporting agencies when there is an open dialogue wit a customer.
