I was contaced by someone at this company after inquiring online on a banner popup. I was asked a few questions & then was connected to Justin Butler who proported to be a licensed Mortgage Banker in my state. I took the time to give enough information thinking I would get a quote but he insisted on obtaining my Social Security Number indicating that "as a responsible lender he was unable to give information that he couldn't guarantee in writing." I told him I would not provide that type of information without first researching the company. I went ahead & scheduled an appointment the following day & decided to do a number of internet searches, BBB, Trust Links, Ripoff Report & finally NMLS which I guess is the site that confirms licensing of the individual you've spoken with. I found a lot of negative but after reviewing their website & the background of their Founder who was a former CEO of Lending Tree Loans I gave them shot. Justin was professional & everything he said would happen did, from the appraisal process through the time line to close my loan. I wound up contacting their Customer Service Department & was informed that they are the 2nd largest non-banking lender in the country which made all the negative comments make sense. I felt compelled to share my positive experience as I'm a small business owner myself and the fact that there are unregulated / unverified sites that allow consumers to say just about anything which could literally put you out of business there should be a way to say good things as well. I guess when you have a good experience you don't go running online so its not always a level playing field. Great job Justin Butler & loanDepot
