You have to be very careful when you get toward the end of the loan....

AUTHOR: MovingForward - (USA)

When you are close to paying off any collateralized loan (vehicle or house or any collateral) you need to make extra sure your payment is on time. In fact, its best to pay early. The lender has an incentive to repossess more quickly if you are behind in your payments and you have equity in your vehicle. You don't need me to say "pay on time" because you knew that when you signed the loan repayment agreement. But keep in mind, if the lender lets you slide for 30 days at the beginning of the loan, they won't let you slide toward the end of the loan at all. Don't take that chance by paying late.

What is their incentive you ask? Well, they can apply all the penalties and default interest, towing fees, attorney fees, repossession fees (any fee they can think of), sell the vehicle and stick you with the amount due less the token amount the vehicle was sold for after repo. This way they have both the vehicle and a judgment (after you don't pay the repo fees and they go for a lawsuit).  Naturally this can happen anytime you don't pay. But at the end of the loan it is more likely to happen much more quickly.

3rd Grader?

AUTHOR: Resty - (United States of America)

Why would you put a 3rd grader down like this?  I am shocked at the degree of illiteracy anymore.  It's shocking at how poorly people spell etc.  How do they function day to day??  I would be so embarrassed to have anyone read anything I wrote and yet, they dont appear to either notice or care.

How Do They "Reposs"???

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

First off get a third grader to write for you. One continuous run-on sentence just doesn't get it in 2012. If you were late they have the right to repo the car...no matter how little you owe. Apparently you were late or failed to pay therefore you told them to repo the car, plain and simple.
