Local Records Office SCAM FOR DEED Austin Texas

Local Records Office sent us an official looking letter soon after closing on a new house, requesting $89 for "the only document that identifies [us] as the property owner." Although the company states that it not affiliated with the county, many people will fall victim to this scam, as this company seems to be doing this nationwide. This is one of the multiple companies that have attempted this gimmick. Please DO NOT fall victim for this service. If you need any property documents, please contact your local county clerk in which the property is located.
