My family saved and shopped for over a year for our dream home. Since closing, our neighbors have turned it into more of a nightmare.

The property we bought is across the street from the owner of the company mentioned in this report. We live across the street from Mateo Luera.

His contractor destroyed the road to our home while installing a driveway to Mateo Lueras property. ( I have filed my own rip off report under Gonzales and Associates )

Mr. Lueras behavior in demanding this driveway was so bizarre that I investigated his property boundaries and discovered where he demanded the driveway was, in fact, not even his property. ( This is after he told two cities, and one county department that it was ) The real estate actually belonged to The City of Lake City and The City of Corpus Christi.

Both he and his contractor refused to repair our road, and denied responsibility. This presented an usafe enviroment for my family. He disregarded my familys ( my son's ) safety. Unforgiveable.

After all of his claims that he owned the property that he continually harassed my family from and for, and my providing proof that he did not own the property...he then asked the true owners if he could purchase it. (yes, the same people he declared ownership to, he was now requesting purchase)

Both government entities denied his request of purchase.

As if this is not all completely ridiculous and unbelievable....After being denied purchase of these propertys ( that he initially declared were his) he submitted a proposal to the US Corps of Engineers to alter this property by 6 feet in elevation. 

He asked a federal agency for permitting to alter property, that he knew was not and would never be his property. I would assume his business practices are just as fraudulent, as well.

Word to the wise, this man has recently formed two more businesses. Surface Equities Environmental, L.L.C. and Surface Options Enviromental, L.L.C.

EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN DEALING WITH THIS PERSON IF YOU CANNOT AVOID IT ALL TOGETHER.

To the person you created this ...thank you I finally have somewhere to let out my frustrations with this company. Let me start out by saying I've been working in the oilfield for 13 years welding and so with all this I'm going to say I know what its like to work long hours and sleep in your truck because your on standby *part of the job!!!!
I was called out to a rig while working for this man an quit honestly I knew it was gonna be chaos which most of the time it is but this time it was insanity. We got to location and started on our designated job,not even 5 minutes in the driller comes over and says to us who sent you you aren't supposed to be here till later...well frustrated we rolled up and sat in the truck for 20 minutes guy comes over and says we don't need yall today...as were leaving another two rig welders show up to do the job we were gonna do...you can imagine how pissed I was but I blew it off and called homebase to hear this from Right Hand Man...I tried calling you the rig call was changed your weren't supposed to go ,wtf that's ridiculous I don't have time for this shit and to top it off I wasn't even paid for drive time at least.
The person that posted that its the best company to work for obviously you haven't been doing this long ...give it time and you'll soon learn that greed is the root to all evil and true colors eventually come out!!!! All the material at the yard is from companies he's worked for and I really wish that there was a way to notify the companies that he is a vendor for so the can see this report. At least maybe he will shape up his act,everyone deserves a second chance.
I also heard from a good friend of mine also an expierenced welder,if he finds out your trying to take his place on the vendor list or get a cut in the action he will find out so watch out he will drag your name through the mud he knows a lot of crooked people on the inside. I may be pissed but everyone knows if someone doesn't answer their damn phone you leave a message especially if you plan on not paying people. But its the past and as of now I can finally let this go ,It's a notch on my wall of things I've been through but the list could go on and on but honestly its not worth my time anymore to make this man be seen for what he is obviously he will do it to himself . All shady business comes to an adrupt hault if you don't do things RIGHT!

Everything in the original report is true. As a former employee i can atest to all of it. I can remember being sent on a job (after a long workday) at 7pm and not getting back till 8am.. mind u those hours i worked (overtime) were not paid to me or my partner who was sent with me on tht job. The reason being tht the welds failed the test?? Mind u there was atleast 5 rig welders dng tht job and we were sent in as single hands to weld out... the fact we were singe hand welders we should have gt paid, simply because he didnt get paid we didnt either. The fact i know i did my job right is what frustrated me, the nerve of tht man

Half the material at his yard belongs to the companys he does work for(leftover) which he resales... this man is a good worker but a scam at heart. Another situation i can recall was on easter sunday.. rig welders working tht day charged overtime, mind u they are subcontracted thru lueras welding, the next day mr luera says he didnt approve charging overtime so they were payed regular wages, where did the extra overtime go? Staigbt to his bank account...

I have been welding for just under 10 yrs, im experienced with a few companies and lueras does lime to hire rookies. Especially fresh outta high school. U cn only imagine my frustration, having to do my job yet guide these kids as to not hurt themselves and screw things up while having to show my own production.. sure enough one day a 20" casing fell on a youngster while he was welding due to inexperience and less then adequate horse racks. Luckily he wasnt injured jus shakin up. I never saw him in tht yard again.

One day i was in the most minor of a fender bender with the welding rig. Not a big tell till ur boss telss u wht to tell the insurance company. I was intimidated. to Losing my job and commiting insurance fraud so he can protect himself. It was then i began to see lueras true colors...

Considering everything i had been thru and the changes with the company leading to my termination.... i couldnt believe the way he proceeded to do so.. monday morning we were called in to a meetinv in the front office( roughly 8-12) employees. Everything was gng normal till he announced (infront of everyone) tht i will no longer be with the company. The audacity of this man, i guess u could say i would expect for him to stoop tht low with his unethical history. As frustrated as i was i shook his hand and glad i could be away from all tht negativity..

In the end i feel he should be monitored by osha on a monthly bases and dnt work there unless u lime working outdoors with mierly a roof over your head no walls.. im glad i found thiis page and i can finally get my story out there to the public. Safety first people and have a good day :)

ps i could go ob and on but id never finish.. like how i had to sleep in my truck with my helper during winter while he was in the hotel or how he doesnt provide anything on out of town jobs or how he works so much he actually becomes a danger to his employees... this man makes so many mistakes due lack of sleep chasing tht dollar... becareful people or how he doesnt buy fre for locations the require them, mostly everything is outta your pocket.. truely greed at its finest....

I have been an employee @ Luera's for 6 months now, and I have not seen, or heard, anything that even comes close to the allegations in the complaint.

I have been treated very well from date of hire to the present. I have never worked for a company that appreciates its employees as Mr. Luera does. Even more, I have never seen or worked with anyone that is as dedicated to his job as Mr. Luera besides my father.

Mr. Luera doesn't sit behind a desk and delegate who goes to what job. He is out in the field with his employees working just as hard or harder than his employees do. I don't mind the long hours because Mr. Luera is right there with me side by side pulling his weight. What you don't know he will teach you, what you can't get, he will help you. He will never ask you to do something he will not do himself. 

This is the best company I have ever worked for hands down.
