We bought Bella Wood  and used the installer they recommended. After 2 years the floor has buckled in 2 places and we have other areas that are coming up. The installer blames the wood and Lumber Liquidators blames the installer. The company will do nothing to help us. Do not buy product from this company. They are a total ripoff.

LL Response to Buckled flooring post

AUTHOR: LL Response - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, January 05, 2012

Buckling is commonly known in the industry as a failure by the installer to provide the proper expansion space between the wall area and the flooring, or caused by flooring trapped by transitional pieces nailed into the flooring secured to the subfloor. While we regret to hear this happened, the failure by the installer to accept responsibility is very frustrating and shows this person is not qualified to install flooring - most likely a general contractor not an actual qualified flooring installer who performs this type of service each day. LL does not inspect buckled floors because we already know what causes this condition and it has absolutely nothing to do with the product itself, rather how it was installed. This can happen no matter where you shop for flooring when installed by someone who fails to follow instructions, or ignores them entirely choosing to use an "experimental approach" to installation which is never recommended! Our best option to help at this point is with advice and it appears we tried to help you only to be countered by an installer unwilling to take responsibility for issues he/she is directly responsible to fix.  Sorry you experienced this problem and hope you find satisfaction through the installer. Check references in the future and make certain you hire a qualified person skilled in a particular trade such as flooring installations.
