Do not work for Macys! The mangers refused to let the employees take breaks, and yelled at you if you asked for one. By law they are required to give employees breaks, but since they never had enough employees to cover breaks they would never let you take a break. In addition I found out I was being paid less than all the other employees doing my same job, and I had been with the company a longer time. I was always on time, did my job professionally, so there was no reason I should have been receiving lower pay, that is discrimination. The managers yelled at everyone for everything and gave all employees way too much work to handle for one person, and refused to hire more people becuase the company is trying to save money. It's a very abusive and unreasonable environment.

No such law...

Contrary to your statement IL has no such law that requires employers to give breaks....

Now, if they are not allowing you to have a meal period after 7 1/2 hours that is something different.
If there is a COMPANY policy to allow breaks and your management is not doing it. Then that is something you need to take up with Macy's.
