I visited with Gaye DeRusso and saw the poorly trained horses she advertises at Majestic Rider.  The same horses on her website were advertised on the internet months before for $1000 dollars.  She was asking 5K plus for them.  The horses were boarded (she doesn't even have her own stable) and in poor shape.  She knew very little about their background and very little about gaited horses in general.  When I rode one of her "great horses" it took off on me.

The advertisement of her horses say that they are trail experienced.  How can that be when you can't even ride them in the arena?  I was scarred that this horse would hurt me after he took off.  This was the "beginner horse" according to Gaye.  Clearly she has no idea what a beginner horse was.  After getting back on and trusting her (foolishly) The horses trotted off and would not listen to the bit.  She claimed that he could perform a running walk if I sat back, collected him, clucked...  I thought she was selling naturally gaited horses?  I could not get this "beginner horse" to gait.  I am not a pro rider but I have been riding for over 15 years.

Majestic Rider is a Rip Off.  She misrepresents her horses.  The website is a sham and cover up for a lowely so called "trainer" with two to three horses that need allot of work. She buys horses dirt cheap in TN and KY and then advertises them as having lots of training on the.  This is clearly not the case.  Don't be fooled by her website she is a horse trader with poorly trained horses.

Don't waste your time or money with her rescue horses that she claims to "know".

From the Ground Up

AUTHOR: doggonefool - ()

I met Gaye Derusso after suffering a serious fall from a thoroughbred and breaking several bones.  She spent time with me teaching me how to work with horses from the ground up; I learned how to lounge, round pen, desensitize, disengage the hips, shoulders. I learned how to groom, tack up, medicate, take temperatures, all before I ever got on a horse.  I took lessons with Gaye for quite some time and she was patient in helping me to overcome my anxiety as well as to understand the psychology of the horse

Gaye uses principles taught by some of the most well known clinicians in the business; Clinton Anderson, Chris Cox, Parelli as well as some of the gaited clinicians Anita Howe, Lonnie Kuehn, and Larry Whitesell.  She is constantly buying books, videos, attending clinics, all in her quest to expand on over 30 years of experience in a variety of equestrian fields. Natural horsemanship is a method of training without using harsh methods that were used in years past.  It is based on relating and
understanding the style of the horse.  Having gone to clinics with some of the well known clinicians previously mentioned, I can attest that Gaye does have the experience and is very well respected in her field.

Many trainers lease space at large barns, this doesn't detract from their skills as a trainer.  The definition of a horse trader is someone who buys and sells horses, it is not always a negative connotation.   If someone buys a horse for $1000.00 and puts in several months to a couple of years on training, it is reasonable to sell the horse for more thanwhat  it was bought for.

Having seen many 'experienced riders' try to ride a Gaited Horse, I question the negative opinions expressed in this report.   People who have ridden in the English style tend to try to hold the horse in too tightly, as well as the way they sit.  Western style tends to have a much looser rein, which is not the manner in which a gaited horse is trained.  These differences can frustrate and frighten a horse if the rider is unwilling to adapt to these changes.

I have seen many horses come in to be trained by Gaye, several of them are repeat customers who come in yearly for a tune-up.  I have seen many horses purchased and trained for people.  I now work voluntarily with Gaye so that I can continue to learn and understand the horse, especially the gaited horse.  She searched all over California to find the right horse for me.  He cost her less than I paid for him, but she travelled to check him out, vetted him, shipped him, trained him and gave me several lessons so that he and I could have a safe and enjoyable relationship.  This is her business and there is nothing wrong with making a profit.

The original report sounds like someone who wouldn't listen to Gaye's suggestions and instead of trying to work things out, got online and filed a report that is costly to try to mediate and will never go away.

Before you take a negative review as the word on a Business, do more research and read some of the positives as well.  Then make your decision.

Gaye derusso

AUTHOR: RILDA - (United States of America)

One of the amazing individuals I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I was visiting my daughter in California and decided to go check out the horses that this woman advertised on her website. Everything was top notch. The facility although not her own barn was very clean and everyone there was very friendly. The horses she had there at the time of my visit were all trained. They were all very well rounded horses very behaved. I rode two of the horses and they both although different sizes were just so easy to ride. I really enjoyed my visit to see Gaye Derusso. She was willing to answer all my questions and spend time with me even after she had such a busy day. I hope everyone in the world of horses is able to experience the gift that Gaye has to offer.

Gaye DeRusso a good person

AUTHOR: Kirk - (United States of America)

We are blessed in America to be allowed freedom of speech! But there are times it gets abused. I am certain this report against Gaye DeRusso is that very thing. I've made a living breeding and evaluating livestock. The number of of acquaintances on that journey have been many. About a month ago I inquired about a horse Gaye had in training that was for sale. What I found was one of the most knowledgeable people I had spoken with on gaited horse training and one of the nicest people I'd ever talked to. I have to remove a contact in my phone to add another, so I'm not looking for more phone time or in need of a friend. But if you want to understand gaits and training gaited horses to a higher level I suggest getting to know Gaye, and or purchasing her video. When you do you will understand why I took the time to write this about someone I've only known for a couple of weeks. Trust me you and your horses will be glad you did.

Owner Of The Facility Defends The Wonderful Gaye Derusso

AUTHOR: LFFMariah - (United States of America)

I own the facility out of which Gaye Derusso operates her admirable business.  I have been competing showjumpers on the "A" circuit for over 25 years, and our barn is among the three largest and most well known in the San Francisco Bay Area.  We are honored to have a person of Gaye's character and quality at our facility.  Gaye is a superior horsewoman, and her many, many, many satisfied clients can attest to her training and riding skills.

As a professional horsewoman, I am saddened that malicious fabricated reports like this one filed against Gaye Derusso are allowed to proliferate on the internet.  This incident is so invented, in fact, that I am begging Gaye to sue for Malicious Slander and Libel.

The "author" of the complaint has the odd idea that it is illegal, immoral, or wrong to buy a horse for $1000 and then sell it for $5000 after making it a better horse.  What an absurd statement!  That is what everyone does who invests -- buy a house, fix it up, and sell it for more.  Buy a collectible, let it appreciate, sell it for more.  Gaye had a wonderful eye for horses, she is a whiz at training them, and she indeed adds tremendously to their value.  Calling her a "horse trader" as though that is a filthy word only displays the "authors" woeful ignorance not only of horses, but of the world.

I hope that there are people of integrity at both Ripoff Report and Google who will help me with removing this fabricated and libelous posting.  Honestly, there are so many lies in it that there is just not enough time to address each point.  Suffice it to say that the horse world would be a better place with more Gaye Derusso's in it, and I have the experience and professional reputation to say so with authority.  If you have any doubts about Gaye's training or the quality of the horse care at the facility, please come by and see for yourself.  A moment in the barn aisle is worth 1000 words here.

Former Satisfied Customer of Gay Derruso aka The Majestic Rider

AUTHOR: Grace (happy customer of Gay Derrus - (United States of America)

I have read most of the comments and allegations concerning Gay and her business. I am saddened to see the mean spirited comments about Gay. I purchased a Percheron/Quarter horse from her 2 years ago. As a novice, the horse I purchased from Gay is the best horse I've ever owned. He is perfect for me, well trained and has a gentle hear and good, solid mind. I was told up front about certain medical issues he had, which is unusual because most sellers do not divulge anything like the information I was given by Gaye. He is such a remarkable horse, I purchased him in spite of his little issue. He is priceless, but was not expensive (she could have sold him for so much more). He is well trained, patient with me, and I am grateful to Gay for the training she put on him and the fact that she matches horses to riders' abilities. I will heartily recommend Gay to any of my friends for horse purchases. I found her to be honest, knowledgeable, caring and professional.  Perhaps the writers of these malicious comments should evaluate what drives their cruel and angry drive to lie and attempt to adversely affect someone's business. My friends are in awe of Onyxx's great temperament, training and heart. I am so fortunate to have found The Majestic Rider website and Gay.

Rip Off Reports Needs Dedicated Server for Dream Walker Ranch Scams and Fraud

AUTHOR: emadjaz - (United States of America)

Congratulations "Sue", you've got the intelligence of a sheep blow fly.  Have your son, Matt, google that for you...your 68 year old Webster's will not likely have it listed.  Not only do your fairy tale rebuttals spew illiteracy, but your fictional characters lack any sort of creativity.  My 11 year old can out-write, out-wit, and undoubtedly out-smart you.

If you haven't noticed, Gaye is her own author.  And she's way more respectful of you, as a person, than I am.  I began this defending Gaye's honor from your fallacies.  But it became clear to me that through your own stupidity, you acquired enough rope to hang yourself.  Suddenly you became my 3 minutes of entertainment...I've never read such poorly written material.  Your not-so-sneaky attempt at concocted deceit is riddled with holes.  And therein lies the rub.  It's akin to the uncontrollable urge to scratch a rash of poison oak.  Once you start, you just can't help yourself.

Again, I congratulate you on metastasizing your manufactured story into a sea of malignant tumors.

One last piece of advice, that will actually benefit both of us:  when Matt's computer underlines something in red, that means it's spelled incorrectly.  It's this really cool thing called spell check.  I know it becomes even more difficult for you when two words sound the same but actually have different meanings.  Such as, "write" and "right".  But being 68, I'm sure you learned that back in the day.  I digress.  In your next response, please, on bended knee, stay the course, use a dictionary if need be.  But try to be clever and most of all, if you reply, do so with clarity and honesty.  Having said that, I can safely say I won't be receiving a decent rebuttal of any sort.

Sincerely,
Your New BFF and Grammar Tutor

I can still take it down but tell me this, why did she say she came to my barn and my horse took off and that i'm a liar.  do you think that was a good way to handle it. I can change my website,  and am happy to do so, but you can't change this website, can you.

For Majestic Rider

AUTHOR: Dream Walker farrier - (United States of America)

Hi Gaye, I am the farrier at Dream Walker Ranch as well as many other horses in the vegas area. I have been googling Dream Walker lately because a former employee there has been harassing me and I was looking to see what he was up to. Anyway, I came across this whole mess here. Have you contacted Jen personally? I would think if you thought it was her you would contact her. I will be sure to notify her when I go by there this week.
Normally I would not get involved in something like this, but Jen and Matt are such nice people I felt compelled to say something. I checked your site. Why is it that you have an entire page dedicated to trying to destroy Dream Walker Ranch. There are many many other business who really try to rip off horse owners all across the country. Why is it that you target Dream walker? There is a saying among some horse people about farriers and I think it would apply to horse sales as well. The good and honest farriers are apparent because they don't bash the others. Their work and integrity stands on it's own. They have no need to bash others to make themselves look good.
I know nothing of Majestic Rider so I can't comment and I won't speculate. I'm sure Jen would talk to you if you felt a need or concern about consumers. I am sure there have been a few unsatisfied customers in Dream walker history as with any business now matter how well run. I have personally seen some unreasonable people come through pretty much trying to scam Dream Walker. I imagine they have to draw a line somewhere. It's more like a family hobby over there. Even I have helped show a horse or 2 when Jen or Matt were out of town. It didn't really matter who was showing them because it's all about honesty at Dream Walker. Jen Will not sell a horse that is not safe or unsound. I see every horse who comes through her barn. I have even seen Jen help people who bought gaited horses from other dealers and it didn't work out. For example I know of 1 consumer who bought a horse (from a business I will not name since I am not here to trash anyone) and it just wasn't a great match. Nothing being wrong with the horse Jen offered to take a trade in so that the consumer would be able to buy a horse she got a long better with. She also found a better matched human for the horse she took in trade and it ended up in a great home.
Jen's horse are all very well behaved or she wouldn't have them. She is very honest about how the horses behave, their ages and their health. Gaye, Jen does a lot of business..... with the volume of business she does it is impossible not to run into some problems. I have nothing to gain here by saying all of this. I just felt this bashing of dream walker was wrong. Jen bends over backwards to help people match up to good horses because she loves to. I am sure out of every 100 people who go to her barn at least 1 will be unhappy. It may just be the person we all know as the customer who can't be made happy. I have 4 of my own horses but because Jen's horses are so much fun to ride, My husband and I go ride with them on occasion and we ride the sale horses. I should mention my husband has only been riding horses for 6 months and never has a problem riding the horses at Dream Walker. They babysit him and take care of him.

As a business owner you should have enough integrity not to personally bash a specific ranch on your website. It only serves to show that you need something to make yourself look better. Maybe you should just consider stepping back, give Jen a call and stop all this nonsense. the only people being hurt in this are the potential horse owners who could find a beautiful new friend at your place or dream walkers place.

The Truth Will Set You Free! Horse Trader.

AUTHOR: Matthew - (USA)

The truth will set you free.

Thank you for the insults regarding my grammer.  Do you treat all your customers this way. This complaint is not about grammer Gaye!  It is about your poorly trained horses that you advertise as trained. It is just a matter of time till someone gets hurt and then the stable won't let you rent stalls anymore.

Your responses further validate this issue.

This lady is scam artist who cannopt admit the truth.  A simple appology or CUSTOMER SERVICE would have been helpful.

All of the barns I visited were more professional than yours or should I say your rented stalls.  Both Dream Walker and Cloud 9 had very nice horses.  By the time I got there the horses I had been following were sold.  You should be ashamed of yourself for attacking those people.  They are honest, good people unlike yourself.

It is intersting that you dedicate your time to bashing Dream Walkers.

Why don't you clean up your own act!

I emailed them last night and told them about your remarks and they told me that they don't even know who you are. So you don't even validate what you right.

Shame on you!

The truth will set you free Gaye!

Jenn and Matt, owners of Dream Walkers Ranch are unethical!!!

AUTHOR: emadjaz - (United States of America)

I am a completely satisfied customer of Gaye's, from the Majestic Rider.  I am writing on my own volition, because she is an amazing person and horse trainer that treats her horses and buyers with honesty and dignity.  She never asked me to write this or anything else.  I saw the lies from Dream Walkers Ranch posted on her website and was compelled to call them out on their pathetic behavior.

"Sue", aka Jenn and Matt, now you're claiming you're 68 years old??  Really??  Your schemes are laughable.  I will, however, agree with your statement of not being very internet/computer savvy.  Because of your idiocy in not recognizing your username on this site, you've had to make up more lies to somehow connect your fraudulent dots.  Apparently that's what you, Dream Walkers Ranch, do with your customers.  Lie and cheat.

But please, don't stop there...continue on with your rudimentary, at best, attempt at writing false accusations.  You claim to have over 15 years experience of riding and that you're, ahem, 68 years old...and you wouldn't have signed a liability waiver??  If either of those two statements had any credibility, you deserve to jump on a horse and have it take off on you.  Maybe it could trot some sense into you.

Instead of responding to a rebuttal to their own made up farce, Dream Walkers Ranch should try responding to the emails of their dissatisfied customers.

actually that was a customer and she did that on her own. someone 68 would not write as you do.  and cloud 9 walkers do have nice horses,  and the owner is responsible, and cares about her horses. i do not know the other one, and if dream walker had such nice horses why didnt you buy one.

but you still have not gotten it right. I did not bad mouth your company, your customers did, and yes if you want to write again, you can have the last word.

Gaye is a phony and a liar!

AUTHOR: Matthew - (USA)

Well, congratulations for purchasing 2 horses from a horse trader

Sounds as though Gaye wrote that.  Only she would lie and once again blame others to evade the truth. That is the type of person she is and why you do not want  to waste your time or money on her poorly "trained" horses.

First the story is from Jen, then it is from Matt from Dream Walker. How about not shifting blame again and sticking to the facts.  Oh, that wouldn't work for you since you simply lie, bad mouth others and hide from the truth. Once again, not only are you a horse trader you are a liar. You are continually proving this.

I am actually traveling right now looking for a trained horse that can actually gait (unlike Gaye's horses).  I am visiting my son in Las Vegas (Matt) who wrote this report for me. I am 68 years old and not very internet savvy.  So that is why he wrote this for me.  I have now visited with Cloud 9, Adam's Gaited Horse and Mule and now Dream Walker. None of their horses behaved as poorly as the "Majestic Rider's".

Once again, you should be ashamed of yourself for denying the event and further more attacking others to hide the truth. What kind of person does that?

Read this Rip Off Report chain and you will see what type of person Gaye is.  She denys the truth and tries to shift the blame at all costs.  Just like when I visited and her horse took off with me she said, "he never did that before."  This is the type of person you are dealing with.  This woman is a fraud. Gaye hides behind lies in an attempt to hide the truth. Well you can't hide this!

I plan on informing everyone I know including those that you bad mouth about your poor business practices and unethical ways of doing business.

A simple sorry or fessing up would have looked much better than this Rip Off Report Chain full of your denial and attacks on other businesses.  Shame on you!

Buyers Beware!

Sincerely,

Sue and Matt

Why don't you rebuttal the complaints you have on your company Dream Walkers instead of trying to put someone else down who was actually trying to help your customers that you would not help. I never posted on your company under a false name like you are doing now and I never said anything bad about it , except that people should never buy a horse unseen and if they are a beginner they should bring a trainer. I posted what others had written because I had gotten so many in the past and was tired of people not having common sense to think before buying a horse, and I wouldn't of even done so if you had helped them, but you did not.

I think you actually have very nice looking horses and I hope that you will realize that I am not trying to take your business or put it down, but I am trying to get people not to make bad decisions,  and to have some common sense, since buying a horse is a big responsiblity.

Sue from Sacramento is a HOAX

AUTHOR: emadjaz - (United States of America)

First and foremost, I have purchased two horses from Gaye at the Majestic Rider in Walnut Creek.  Her horses are so well-trained and cared for that people recognize them as being trained by her.  She takes the time to help her buyers even after their purchase if there are any questions, or are a new horse owner.  I've known Gaye to NOT sell a horse to a perspective buyer because she wanted a better home for the horse.  She's not in it for the money.  She has a well paying full-time job and works with horses because she has the passion and expertise for it.  She has 2-3 horses at a time because of the huge time commitment she makes for each horse.  She doesn't have the time for her own stable, nor is that indicative of health, soundness or training of horses.

This made up story of Gaye having a poorly trained horse that ran off with you, is not only a farce, but displays the desperate measures of an unintelligible cheat that is being uncovered.

I have a couple questions for "Sue" from Sacramento:

1.  Why on the 2nd rip off report comment, under your name it actually says "Matthew" from Las Vegas??  Isn't that the same name as Jenn's husband, Matt from Dream Walkers?  And doesn't Dream Walkers operate out of Las Vegas??

2.  This will be even more telling:  there are two things Gaye always does when showing a horse to a potential buyer.  The first is to have a signed release of liability, required by the barn.  Can you tell me what the second thing is that Gaye did right before you went for your "ride", "Sue"?  Or do you prefer Matt?

Please, I'm begging you for a grammatically incorrect response.

Majestic Rider is a Horse Trader

AUTHOR: Matthew - (USA)

Wow!  I cannot believe that you are going to deny this.  On top of having hoses that are blatantly misrepresented you are also a liar.    My complaint is about your business practices and your misrepresentations and yes, I did visit you! I did not sign a release form but you should remember this event clearly unless this  happens all the time with your horses.

If you were that good of a "trainer" the horse I came to see would have never acted like that.

Anyone can call themselves a "trainer" and that is obviously the case here.  Your horse took off on me and trotted.  What kind of "trained gaited horse" is that?  It is about right for you to deny this.  When your horse acted up you said, "he has never acted this way before."  Yeah, right!

At least you admit that you rent stalls from someone else's property, you are not breeding, raising or training young horses.  You are buying and selling.  You are the pure definition of a horse trader. At least this fact is undeniable and perfectly  clear.

Howe can you advertise that you fix other peoples horses when you cannot even fix your own?

Don't try to cloud the issue by mentioning other people or businesses.  The fact of the matter is that your horse was advertised on horseville for $1000.  You bought him from an individual for nearly nothing, did very little so called "training" and jacked his price up. That is a rip off!

You should be ashamed of yourself for denying the event and then trying to bad mouth others to cover up your poor performing horses.

You are a disgrace to the horse community and a phony.  I am sure you will not be in business long.  People are smart enough to see through what you are doing.

Sincerely,

Sue

This report is a hoax

AUTHOR: gaye - (United States of America)

Thank you Sue for your report or should I say Jen from Dream Walker Ranch. I am the owner of majestic rider. I have reports on my site about Dream Walker Ranch in Las Vegas, of people who have bought their horses and had complaints about their business practices and how problems were dealt with.  These people have contacted me in hopes that I could help them or their horses. Apparently it has gotten back to Dream Walker Ranch and this is how they have responded. There is no Sue in Sacramento, our barn makes us keep all the release forms, so I can prove it. And I wish I could find a horse for 1,000, but even good untrained ones cost much more then this, unless you are buying your horses at a sale which I do not. Our stable would not tolerate skinny horses or poor behavior since it is a major hunter/jumper and dressage barn with children all around and since board is over 600 dollars, it would not make sense for someone trading horses to even board there. People send me their horses  to fix problems that other trainers could not fix and I do not need to sell horses to support myself, and that is why even if this loses business for me I would not be upset. Instead of taking the time to write a report like this, you should contact your buyers who have had problems and try to make amends.  Your reputation is well known by most of the gaited community, but it is not for well trained horses.
