Zadidoll is an employee of Irene Byron.  She has shared private emails between us when I specifically asked her not to do so.  She is on the forum makeuptalk.com and is an employee of Irene Byron, the owner of the forum.

Irene became very irate with me when she asked me to give her thousands of dollars to make Zadidoll, her employee and others stop with a malicious thread they posted about my company.  It has happened in the past to another company but unfortunately the pressure was so great, they caved in whereas I did not.

I am not allowed to post on her forum to defend any of the accusations against me by Zadidoll who is not even a customer of mine and others.  The only way to rectify the situation according to Irene Byron was to give her exorbitant amounts of money and then ''she would take care of things'' and promote me all over the web for thousands of dollars.  I will post her fees here she emailed me.  Unfortunately, my business is failing already over this and I just got started as I have a brain tumor and need extra funds for my care.

I told Irene this and she had no pity and just hung up on me once I said she was trying to scam me for a service I did not need, I could not afford as a start up and was put off by her immense pressure and promises to help end the malicious reports against me on her forum she owns, makeuptalk.com.  She still allows Zadidoll to dissuade my customers and to post untruths and I am not allowed to post unless I pay her fine of thousands of dollars.  Zadidoll has also contacted a web company as I was testing my website with stock images and she thought I was in some kind of deep trouble, lol.  The email from that company essentially said no worries and hopes to gain my business.

She has posted all over the web, wherever she can and has hundreds of followers on her FB account alone as she is paid by makeuptalk.com.

Here are the fees that I must pay them to ''make things all better" for me:

$350 monthly ($4200 across 12 months)
Insiders Program on MakeupTalk (dedicated showcase page, albums, and direct access to our community)
Sponsored Contest giveaway highlighting products and generating buzz around Red Carpet Box

$500 monthly ($6000 across 12 months)

Irene Byon
Marketing and Advertising

Because I refused and Irene was irate and quite irrational on the phone and didn't want to hear that I would like to post my defense on her forum, she hung up on me and I heard tittering in the background before that happened.

Irene contacted me NUMEROUS times trying to sell me the package with saying she could ''make things right for me again''.  She is allowing Zadidoll to post the most malicious posts I have ever encountered and I have a brain tumor!  Here is a link to the forum with my company involved in this:
http://www.makeuptalk.com/t/128791/red-carpet-box

They have caused so much interference in my daily business that literally all I have time for is damage control and hopefully new clientele by adding extra products into my beauty box this month.  I am never going to fall into this trap and I don't see how small companies afford this.  I explained I just got started in my business and her forum (I googled my own company) I came across does business by finding new companies like mine and no wonder so many have gone defunct if they are using this service.  I found no value in her marketing and only pressure.  She wants the post to stay and I am still not allowed to post there unless I pay her.  Her rationale is that she can build my business better than I can but I don't believe her.  I am an honest and sincere person who has tried my best and I almost feel like the pressure of this forum alone and that my company I created out of true love and joy is now defeated due to these scam forums.

Utter rubbish!

AUTHOR: CreativeBlock - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, February 23, 2013

Again, I have no affiliation with MUT or Zadidoll other than *free*membership at said site. However, I have been privy to the events that have caused this debacle to unfold here on this page.

Federal tax ID number:

Good. I'm sure the IRS is ecstatic that you have a tax ID#. But it has absolutely NO bearing on the calibre of your business or its practices. So, I'm not sure why you mentioned that.

It's a bit like someone saying "I could not have possibly shot that man, because I have a driver's license!"

Discontinued items:
No one ever said that discontinued items were unusable. The point asserted was that it's deceptive to send them to subscribers without warning them that's the case.

However, that doesn't address the illegal counterfeit purses/goods you sent to your clientele.

Tortuous interference:
If you're going to bandy about legal terms, you might want to consider spelling them correctly. In the US, it's spelled "tortious" interference.

It is not tortious interference to fact-check a company's claims regarding their products and/or services.

In fact, the US government's consumer protection organisations encourage consumers to do as much research as possible on a company prior to doing business with them. They also encourage the sharing of that information with other consumers.

"Test-phasing a logo":
That's called "copyright infringement." No legitimate business owner ~ or even graphic artist would EVER use an image they did not have the rights to on a LIVE website.

Sockpuppets:

Your friends were banned and deleted for making threats against and harassing other members. Is that really the kind of "defence" you think is appropriate for a business?

Illness:
No one advised you to "quit what you love" because of your alleged brain tumour. It was advised because you run a business with shoddy practices, counterfeit products, and expired items.

The dx from a "random person" was possibly me (though as you are not a patient, it is not a diagnosis, just a very well educated guess). I am a retired forensic psychologist with a PhD in Abnormal Psychology. And I'm deeply sorry, but you do present as a classic narcissist with overtones of Histrionic Personality Disorder.

"Signed Model":
Considering that you used images you did not own on your website, coupled with your narcissism and distribution of counterfeit goods, it is not a stretch of the imagination to consider that you might be deceptive about your occupation as a model.

Law and litigation:
Madam, you bandy about words and phrases that you have no understanding of.  Before you waste your funds on a lawsuit based on "tortious interference," I'd be sure to see an attorney who actually graduated with an J.D. from an ABA approved school, rather than someone who took the LSAT and failed it.

If you REALLY want to put this behind you and prove yourself as a business, you might want to consider some advice:

1) If you blunder and distribute counterfeit goods or expired/discontinued items, just admit your mistake and make good with your clientele. Offer refunds. Yes, you'll likely be in the red for a while, whilst you win back your clients' trust, but you'll develop a hard-core cadre of followers who will talk about your company postively and earn you more clients. It's all about word-of-mouth.

2) If your reputation is besmirched, craft a SHORT, excuse-less, rebuttal and make your point ONCE ~ it will earn you respect.

Any more than that (as you've well learned), and you're over-emoting. Think MacBeth's "The lady doth protest too much." By constantly posting here and having your cronies post at MUT, you've protested too much.

The debacle you're bemoaning here is the direct result of YOUR fanning the fire with parafin at MUT.  YOU kept beating the dead horse. YOU made it worse for YOU.

3) Acquaint yourself with the "real world." Sites like MUT pay for their bandwidth with advertising. To garner those advertising dollars, they use "Ad Reps". "Ad Reps" are people whose SOLE job is to cultivate clients and sell ad space. That's ALL they do. They don't have a single bloody thing to do with posting in the forums.

(Before you're given a nasty shock, TV, magazines and newspapers also use "Ad Reps." Just FYI.)

4) Find ANOTHER site to post on and create a POSITIVE persona there. Use THAT site to build a positive image for your company.

5) If you can't understand the principles above, hire someone who does. And let that person do the job you've so far demonstrated that you can't.

Zadidoll and Forum Friend

AUTHOR: BLACKMAILED - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, February 22, 2013

Zadidoll left out a few things.

I do in fact have a tax ID number, this is how wholesalers may purchase in bulk.  I admitted that my first month I was sold expired product, but unknowingly.  Discontinued lines are not considered expired and there are even websites out there whom are absolutely legitimate that vend discontinued lines.  As long as they are sealed and never opened, the product is absolutely usable.  I also fully disclose that the reason I am able to provide full-sized samples versus samples that are tiny foils is that I have a wholesaler account with many vendors and believe it or not, you can absolutely buy premium name brands whether a discontinued line or not.  Not all of my product lines are discontinued.

Also, she in fact has done the most damage by contacting my sponsors both large and small.  Almost every single one.  It is called tortuous interference.  She even went so far to contact a company that I was test-phasing a logo saying that I was using their logo (even with a stamped copyright of their product all across it) and using it for free.  She or someone she suggested contacted my friend, Ofra Gaito who provided me with samples for my company and she is a large cosmetics company, Ofra Cosmetics.

I do not send out people to their website to speak for me and I do not and cannot speak for myself unless I am paid member on their website.  It seems a bit unfair that you cannot even rebut on a ''public forum'' unless you pay, and then seems doubly unfair that even my friends who have given honest opinions have been banned or deleted their posts.  It is all a circus that is not understood by me

I don't mention having a brain tumor openly to garner sales. I had disclosed that at one time to some of the members or even on FB because like others I was scared.  I am well pleased to announce the tumor is now nothing but an empty sella (empty sella syndrome) and a business woman whom wants to help her business, not wallow in pity and not help myself.  If you take a look at their forum, I have also have examples of where the members (many of whom have not bought from me) mock my disease, seeking me to quit what I love, and even diagnosed from a random person that I have a mental illness.  They mentioned that even possibly my photos were not me.  I am a signed model with an actual agency I will not disclose on this website nor their business address and I am 37 years of age as a professional.  I do not agree that I am narcissistic, it is my other profession and I have a large family to support.

I only mention law or litigation because it is in fact if you do not absolutely KNOW the facts that I have a legitimate Federal Tax ID, I buy from wholesalers and keep making up nonsense that affects my business, I do have rights.

It is curious that makeuptalk encourages all forms of public speech unless its paid for.  That is why I came to Ripoff Report ONLY.  I don't want to advertise with them, but having to pay for a post in a thread gone out of hand to defend your character, your reputation and even your business is ridiculous.  I am not paying to such people who would go to all lengths to destroy you, mock you, and contact personal relationships with the people I do business with.  All the rest is simply petty.
Paypal has only refunded one of my orders because the  buyer did it correctly.  She returned the items and I as the owner refunded her.

We only use Paypal for buyer AND seller protection.  We will also replace defective items and have done so at our cost, even though it was not policy to pay for shipping, we have at many times.  Whenever there was a Paypal dispute, the answer from the client buying from us from makeuptalk most often is ''I threw it in the trash."  "I gave it to a relative."  They post these things and then  Paypal sees these posts and one was even won in less than a day in favor of Red Carpet Box.  This is not bragging, it just isn't sensible.

We have very much upgraded our business, learning in the process, looking for expiration dates and  we still love very much what we do.  We are improving our services minute by minute.

Zadidoll,  I would like to say I am apologetic and to all of makeuptalk whom with it did not go well in the beginning or even now.  I am forgiving, no longer want this sort of drama associated with my company.  If you would like to contact me, I'll send you a gratis February bag if you can accept my apologies. If you need a personal copy of my papers, I will do that, too.  I do hope we can shake hands and be comfortable with one another, even benefiting one another.  I am about to do a special fundraiser through RCB and I'd love to have you involved.  You  having a bag in your hand is the only way you can fully know what lately I have done for Red Carpet Box.  If there is anything else I can do for you, please let me know.  I know I cannot post on the MUT forum, but if there is anything also I could do for your moderators, please let me know.  Red Carpet Box is still working on their new website, as well.  Best wishes.

A third party's opinion

AUTHOR: CreativeBlock - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, January 24, 2013

I'd like to address a few issues the OP (Red Carpet Box) mentioned, if I may:

Red Carpet Box's products: Consisted of mainly expired make-up and fraudulently knocked-off items. It were those issues that prompted the discussion at Makeuptalk.com. It was Zadi's defense of those complaining (preserving their right to free speech) that upset the owner of RBC.

Private Emails: If you're harassing an individual and ineptly and incorrectly threatening legal action against them (when you have absolutely NO basis in doing so), you have no reason to expect your threats and harassment to remain private. You have NO expectation of privacy.

Damage Control: Sending sockpuppets to a forum and harassing and threatening members is not "damage control." Neither is purporting "sponsorships" that simply do not exist.

Advertising: MUT is a sponsored website. They pay for their bandwidth, hosting, et al, with advertising dollars. Almost ALL forums operate this way. This is fully disclosed on the website itself. Being called and asked if you would like to advertise with them is not "blackmail" nor is it bribery. It's conducting a business.

Illnesses:
Having an illness is not a valid excuse for selling shoddy, expired products or counterfeit goods. Nor is it a valid excuse for threatening others for simply having an opinion or giving your service a bad review (which is legal under Fair Use Doctrine, BTW).

I am not affiliated with MUT or any of the people mentioned in this complaint. I simply came across RBC while looking for new beauty/lifestyle subscription boxes/services at MUT. And it was NOT the comments or discussion that influenced my opinions here ~ it was the actions, attitudes and shoddy business practices of the owner and her "friends." Both at MUT and her Facebook page.

#1 REBUTTAL Individual responds

Patricia West Martin, owner of Red Carpet Box

AUTHOR: Zadidoll - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 14, 2012

Hello, I am the Community Manager at Makeuptalk.com and would like to clarify the issue reported here.

I am contracted with MakeupTalk.com (MUT) to manage the website (forums, groups, product reviews, galleries). Among my other responsibilities at MUT, my role is to ensure that content posted on the site doesn't violate our Terms of Service. Irene Byon is employed by Huddler, which is the Platform Partner of MakeupTalk. Her role is to approach companies about advertising on MUT. Irene simply offered the ability for Red Carpet Box (RCB) to advertise on the MUT site, which they declined.

MakeupTalk is an ad-supported site, but we do not moderate user comments on behalf of our sponsors/advertisers. MUT does not remove posts just because members have negative opinions on a company. MUT stance is that members have the right to share their opinion so long as the opinion is not illegal. With this policy in mind, we informed the Red Carpet Box owner that we will not be removing the thread where our users expressed negative experiences with her company.

After several harassing threads towards members of the MUT community, the MUT team decided our site will not accept advertising from Red Carpet Box. We later discovered that some of our members who purchased products from Red Carpet Box felt scammed (discontinued, expired or potentially counterfeit items.) I have suggested to members who felt scammed by RCB to request a refund and they have under Federal law to file complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, the Better Business Bureau, the Florida State Attorney General's office as well as the State Attorney General's office in their state as well as file disputes with Paypal and/or their credit/debit card provider.

If you have purchased a box from RCB I would highly suggest contacting the companies whose products you received to find out if the products are legitimate products that have not been discontinued and/or expired. Most recently RCB sent out to people who purchased a box items from Urban Decay that were discontinued in 2011 (Urban Decay's loose pigment shadow was discontinued in mid-2011 and last sold for $1) while the Urban Decay tattoos are on clearance on the UD site for $2. It's also not clear if RCB has permission to distribute these products as many companies do not authorize companies from distributing their products without permission. It's also unclear if RCB has a business license in her city or in the state of Florida or has a reseller's license as required by the state of Florida's Department of Revenue. It is clear that the products RCB has sent out were purchased from 3rd party vendors and off of EBay.

If you feel that you were scammed by RCB you do have options.

You can request a refund. If a refund is refused you can file a dispute with Paypal and/or your credit/debit card holder. You can file a complaint with the Florida State Attorney General's Office as well as the State Attorney General's Office in your state. You can file a complaint with the BBB.You can file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. You can file a small claims against her however you must do so in her jurisdiction.File a report on Rip Off Reports on your experience with RCB.
