The experience I had at Mangos Tropical Caf was similar to the one stated on a review titled The worst place in South Beachand I live in Miami, and I am certainly very disappointed. Meanwhile, I must admit with honesty that Mangos is a very entertaining place. Apparently, its entertainment only comes to some kind of end the moment the manager does not like ones appearance, and that seems to have been what happened to me: he did not like mine. I would never go back there unless I receive an official welcome back invitation, which I am sure I never will.  However wonderful Mangos might be, it is not good enough for me if I am not welcome; there are many other places in South Beach where I can also dance and drink Tequila.

While I had enjoyed the times I had spent at Mangos, I became very upset and shocked with the awful treatment that I received when I was rudely asked to leave the place.  The manager of Mangos is a very merciless and disgraceful individual - he is full of malice. He has no consideration for what someone else feels. He is probably the most selfish and revolting individual I have ever met.  Someone else might have a different opinion about him, but I can only go by my impressions.  I might also change my mind one day, but this is so far the conclusion I have reached.

The old saying The customer is always right does not at all seem to appeal to Mangos, where only the manager always is.  Even though that old saying is not always accurate, as there are some situations in which it is virtually impossible to say that the customer is right, such a saying calls for regard and consideration for what the customers feels.  At Mangos, what the customer feels does not make any difference; the managers judgment, regardless of how right or wrong it might be, only matters and anything else is irrelevant. The manager of a place like Mangos should rather be open-minded: full of consideration and sympathy for his customers.  The rotten attitude the manager of Mangos had upon hearing what my feelings were showed exactly the opposite.

I must consider the fact that it is necessary for a club manager to have a very strong personality, given that on several occasions he needs to deal with drug-addicts and with alcoholics.  On some sort of situations, he has no choice but to be rude.  Nevertheless, certain limitations exist and the manager of Mangos goes far beyond them.  In other words, he abuses his authority by awfully ill-treating people that for some reason do not please him.

Whenever someone is told to leave a place, a reason must be given to him or her and the reason must be accurate and fair.  His or her feelings need to be taken into account at least, to some extent. Some negotiations should always be available, although all parties of course, including the customer - must keep their promises.  By no means should rudeness and awful treatment for no good reason take place at a business run and attended by civilized human beings. This is utterly unacceptable and despicable! It could hardly be more disheartening!

Everyone has a right to believe what he or she wants; this world calls for freedom and one's own personal judgment, which I of course respect

AUTHOR: Armand Charpentier - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, October 02, 2011

Although this story is a little old now, I can give some more details.

I only stepped out to catch some fresh air on the beach, and when I returned, they told me to leave.  Of course, I asked them why and they just told me that that was what the manager wanted.

The following day I asked someone in their lost and found section about something I had left, and she told me to go to the office to speak with the manager.  For no good reason, he ill-treated me and he never returned the lost item to me.  That was when I learned what kind of person he is.

I had been to Mangos Tropical Caf quite a few times before that happened to me, and I must admit that I had had some great times.  I am not used to being kicked out of a place. I have been to many places and this one was the very first time I was told to leave in such a rude way.

I once stepped into a private party in error, and someone very politely told me to leave and, of course, I did.  I do never do anything against the owners of any club or bar that I go.  In fact, I meet some wonderful people in most of the places I go. I only try to enjoy myself in the best possible way, not disturbing anyone else.

In any event, I can only reach the conclusion that what happened to me at Mangos was merely bad luck.  This only happens to very, very few unfortunate people myself included -, and it is by no means the end of the world.  There are other places in Miami Beach where I can enjoy myself too, although they might not be the one of the kind place that Mangos is.  For the time being, that is just what I am planning to do enjoy myself elsewhere.

Unbelievable though it might sound, if someone ever asks me about Mangos, I will give good information about it.  What happened to me is not likely to happen to him or to her, since it is extremely unusual.  Nothing is perfect in this world, so perhaps I should believe that the managers not liking me is part of Mangos imperfection.  Meanwhile, for someone else this place will most probably turn out to be wonderful, and I certainly wish him or her best of luck.

Don't believe it

Yes you are not telling the entire story.  All one has to do is look through your postings to see this is the case.

First of all you seem to think that you have a right to be in a business.  The fact is that the business is PRIVATE property and if they want you to leave, you need to leave.  There is no "negotiation" if they don't want to.  The reality is that a business does not care how someone that they are kicking out "feels".  If they are kicking you out they DON'T want you back.

You start off by saying that think you may have violated the dress code because the manager didn't like your appearance.  When you were "called" on that statement you back peddled saying it may not have been what you were wearing.  Yet you failed to mention exactly what you were wearing.

In general, whenever I am told that I am not welcome anywhere, I do never go back to that place even if the person in charge tells me to go back.
- Really?  Well in all my years I have never been asked to not go back to a business, for you it sounds like a regular event.   So perhaps telling us why you were asked to not come back to those other businesses it may help us(and you) figure out why you were asked to leave this time.

I am curious as to how long you were there before you were kicked out, and what exactly were you doing up until that point.  Now, of course I realize that this will be slanted in your favor, but it may be an interesting story.

Once again, no reason was ever given.

AUTHOR: Armand Charpentier - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, October 01, 2011

They don't have to give anyone a reason to tell him or her to leave? Isn't Mango's Tropical Caf currently operated by civilized human beings? Supposedly it is, therefore a reason needs to be given when a person is asked to leave.

It is just amazing that some people feel that they can guess. How on earth can anyone ever say that it appears they did give me a reason and I just didn't agree with it when they never saw anything. They only have what I am telling them now.  They might want to tell me that my story sounds strange and that they find it hard to believe, but making a judgment when there is only one side of a story and when so many facts are yet to be learned is very trivial.

In my first write-up, I clearly state
"The old saying The customer is always right does not at all seem to appeal to Mangos, where only the manager always is.  Even though that old saying is not always accurate, as there are some situations in which it is virtually impossible to say that the customer is right, such a saying calls for regard and consideration for what the customer feels."

I sincerely doubt that some regard and consideration for what the customer feels would drive any company right out of business. It would only prove that the business owners are civilized human beings.

You don't have to believe me it you don't want to

AUTHOR: Armand Charpentier - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, October 01, 2011

I am perfectly aware of the fact that I can't force anyone to believe anything. This particular story is now a little old, and it would be very hard - if not impossible - for me to bring evidence of any kind.

Nonetheless, I know that it has indeed happened that some people got kicked out of a place for no reason at all.  If they had given me one, my opinion about the manager would have been quite different - even if I had thought that he was wrong.

When someone tells me something, I don't contradict that person unless I can prove that individual that he or she is wrong. I might tell him or her that whatever he or she is telling me sounds a little weird, but I would never say that it is a lie.

We live in a very big world, in which there are many, many kinds of people.  While some of them are wonderful, quite a few of them are just evil. The manager of Mango's Tropical Caf might be OK with his other customers, but he was terribly awful and despicable with me. Once again, I might change my opinion sometime in the future, but this is what I believe at present.

You do not get kicked out of a place for no reason so I suspect that there was a good reason you were asked to leave but are not willing to explain in this report.

He did not give me any reason at all

AUTHOR: Armand Charpentier - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 28, 2011

By no means was I violating their dress code - I frankly doubt the have any.  When I say the manager did not like my appearance, I am just guessing. Guessing is all I can do when no reason has ever been given to me.

Once again, I admit that Mango's Tropical Caf is a very entertaining place.  I was just unlucky that the manager - indeed an individual full of evilness and malice - did not like me for some reason.  As I have already said, I would never go back there unless I receive an official welcome back invitation, which I am sure I never will.  Should such a thing ever happen to me, I will take it as a miracle or the like.

In general, whenever I am told that I am not welcome anywhere, I do never go back to that place even if the person in charge tells me to go back.  In certain places, I do go back because there is something wonderful that somehow causes me to forget what happened.  Given that Mango's Tropical Caf is one of the kind, I will most probably return if I am ever welcome back, and, of course, I will forget what happened altogether.  Meanwhile, since such a thing has not happened to me yet, I would never step into that place.

A little more detail wouild be helpful

AUTHOR: Ramjet - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 28, 2011

In truth they don't have to give you a reason although it appears they did.  You just don't agree with it.

Also, you are correct, the customer is definitely not always right.  That's an old myth that would drive most companies right out of business if they really operated that way.

Apparently he gave a reason for asking you to leave...

AUTHOR: Vimot - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 28, 2011

he didn't like your appearance. However you fail to elaborate on that for the entire post. Is there a dress code? Were you not in compliance with the dress code? If you were not the management reserves the right to ask you to leave. So, he did give you a reason, but without more info it's hard to distinguish between you being upset and embarrassed for being asked to leave for violating the establishment's dress code or having a legitimate complaint. Please elaborate.......
