Marigold Financial Riverside refuses to send backup or copies of bills allegedly owed; makes negative reports on credit without proof of monies owed; refuses to contact their clients in order to check if client received payment and has a clear balance; refuses to confirm information given by consumer that balances are legitimate and/or paid. Marigold maintains it is their clients responsibility to update any payments made and will not confirm consumers check #'s date of payment or balances cleared. Riverside California

I am a property manager in the city of Norco and the city did not apply my payment to the correct account. In the meantime they sent the account to Marigold financial as their notices were going to the property rather than my business address. When I recognized the balance I called the city of norco and we resolved the matter by matching the correct name to the correct account; they did indeed have my check. The city of Norco notified Marigold that the account was clear. Marigold continued to call me regarding a balance over $50.00 that was still owed on the account. They at first said there was a second bill owed. I asked them for a copy; they refused. I contacted the City of Norco to confirm my balance was clear, they said it was and reiterated the fact they cleared it with Marigold. Second call to Marigold to report this information was met with a rude interruption that I only paid a partial amount and $50 was still owed and it is up to the City of Norco to call them and have it cleared. I told them that has been done already and for a second time, please send me copies proving this additional amount owed is legitimate. They refuse, they are rude and they keep hanging up. Since when can a collection agency report negatively on your credit without proving there is money owed...ESPECIALLY when their client (the city of Norco) says the balance is -0-? Any potential clients; please beware of these tactics it could very well point to litigation.
