I have been a past purchaser of Marlo's furniture. I have purchased three bedroom sets, one was over $3,000.00 and the salesman haggled me over the five year warranty. This purchase was during one of these sales, No Interest and No Payment for a Year. It took them at least six different deliveries and approximately six months to get the whole bedroom set in my house! They would bring part of the bedroom set and the furniture that they brought to my house was damaged. I would have to do the same song and dance that everyone else has been talking about. All along, my no interest -no Payment was ticking away! I was paying no interest and no payment for furniture that I did not even have yet. Sounds silly to complain about that but the point is you get to enjoy the furniture while you do not have to pay for it. Otherwise, I would had whipped out a different credit card and paid for whatever I wanted there on the spot. Anyhow, they finally got all of the pieces here after many, Many phone calls, answering machines, hang ups, oops were sorry!, the salesman did not work there anymore, they were coming on a certain day and the day of or the evening before after store hours we would get a message stating that the delivery was postponed for one reason or another. I believe what they are doing is; they are selling what they have in stock to cash customers and making the people that have the sales deals, (no pmt.- no interest) wait for their merchandise.

Like I said, I have purchased different sets of furniture from them but this last one was the worst. I am just now going to start dealing with them and it is not going to start off nice. You do not get anywhere talking to those people nicely. They just do not care. They make that sale and once you sign, their commission is paid and you have no salesman that will back you up if there is a problem afterwards. The only thing they do is walk around the store and interrupt your train of thought and you get frustrated and leave. LOL.

Anyhow, I was stupid enough to make another purchase with, No Interest, No Payment for about a year. I purchased a loft bedroom set for my son and living room furniture. A sofa, loveseat, large foot rest the size of the sofa, and the large chair that goes with it. I had to tell them not to bring the chair and to take it off of my bill because it was too much furniture for the room. I guess I will see if they took it off the bill when I get my next statement from them because it is still on there.

I tried to purchase two living room sets but the salesman totally ingored me when I tried to speak with him about being interested in a leather living room set. He was in a hurry to get out of there because we were past closing hours. I guess that is why he did not want to sell me the second and even more costly, living room set.

The living room set on display was a very comfortable, overstuffed, soft, you just sink into type of living room set. It has the extra depth where two people can lay on the couch and snuggle without feeling too cramped. The kind that makes you fall asleep when you sit down. I was sold. We knew from past experience that we were not purchasing Levitz furniture but it would do considering we have two German Shepherds that are indoor dogs. Keep in mind we are doing the no payment - no interest for a year sale. I noticed when we were testing the furniture how it was just covered with extra pillows. I thought that was just a fashion statement. WRONG!!! They must switch floor models every day to keep the furniture that hundreds of people sit on and pretty much kids run on etc., so nice, the fabric so shiny, the stuffing holding up really well. They must send the ten to fifteen free pillows with the furniture because in a couple of months, the backs of the furniture sag so badly I have nothing to lean back on! All of those extra throw pillows are to use because all of the stuffing that is in the furniture dissapears literally. Even the bottom, cushions have no big thick overstuffed feel anymore. The springs are shot and we have had to put boards underneath the cushions that have no cushioning at all to keep from falling thru or getting a spring up the rear. Oh, when the furniture arrived, it was nice and shiny as it was on the show room floor. In less than a week, we noticed that it was getting little furballs on it. In about a month, the fabric started to ball up on it like a very inexpensive sweater that you wash and dry for the first time, and you take out of the dryer, and it has balls stuck all over it. Well the I literally laugh about this one because it looks like I have had this furniture over 50 years and it has been less than six months. They got me good on this one. Im not paying for it when it is time for the payments to start. They better be sending me replacement furniture. I am sure they have been sued many times. The bank will be hearing about this and whomever starts the lawsuit. That is how they get you. They have you finance through a bank that they do all of their business with and when the furniture breaks, you are still obligated to pay the bank for the money you borrowed. I know by law I have to pay for what I have financed but I won't be paying for that furniture. It doesn't even look like furniture! It is too much.

Has anyone figured out the scam that the salesman/woman does with the 5-year insurance plan? They are willing to bargain with this a whole lot. I have even received it for free. But, when the salesman and I agree on a price, they always say that they have to enter it in the computer under a SKU or for the full price of the insurance. Then they say, and show me how they took the discount of the insurance off of a piece of the furniture that I purchased. I have not figured this one out yet, but I know it is a ripp-off somehow.
I would love to get in or help start a class action lawsuit. I cannot start one because I am a chronically ill person in severe pain, and, I have very little time or energy to do anything but go to the physicians office. I can testify, assist, anyone that can get a class action lawsuit started. I"M IN!!!! Contact me thru this website!
