I thought that I had cancelled my membership with mate1.com (such as it was) but charges of $49.95 appeared for two more months. Before I could connect with a real person when I called to report this error, I was dropped from the line twice, ostensibly because they could not hear me. When sheer persistence finally connected me to a real person he refused reimbursement because I did not have a termination of membership number, which he said should have been given to me when I allegedly cancelled. (It wasn't.) I decided not to ruin my life by an argument I couldn't win and came onto this site instead. My real revenge happens with my description of their "services." Non-existent. I had noted my wish to meet a professional man, as I am a professional woman, but I found it improbable and almost laughable that about thirty different possible matches appeared online immediately, all with MDS, PHDs and law degrees, none of whom turned out to be genuine human beings. Do not join Match1.com unless you have a deep desire for masochism. As for protecting myself, I'm changing my credit card number immediately so that this pathetic excuse for an authentic online business can cannibalize my account again. And I suggest that all of you who have been exploited do the same thing. Let's cut them off where they live: money. And for those of you who have been savvy enough not to join in on this pathetic scam which preys on the vulnerabilities of lonely people, save your money and just go to the library! You'll meet real people there.
