High Groove Auto Repair or High Groove Automotive AKA Matt Shaughnessy

Hello, so it all started when my car started acting up. I knew i could fix myself, but did not want to spend the time so figured i would hire a local small time business, thinking we could help each other out. After 5 days he finally shows up at my house. Payed him $50 to diagnose my car and tell me what is wrong. After one hour Matt tells me what was supposedly wrong w/ my car. He told me for him to fix it that it would be a large job. When he left my home he explained that he would have to talk to a friend and see if he could use some floor space at his garage and that he would call me back later in the day to give me details. Well, finally i called him back 2 days later to see what the scoop was.

He said he had 2-3 more customers to deal w/ before he could get to me. Later he explained to me how much of a job this will be. I explained to him that i was aware of an alternative way to do this job alot faster. He responded by saying it was to much of a liability to do it my way. He offered for me to do part of the job and he would do the rest(easy part). To make a long story shorter  Diagnosis was incorrect. I called Matt and informed him of this. He informed me of something else to try, and that also was incorrect. Finally i Paid a real mechanic wich had diagnosed and fixed w/ in 1.5 hrs. Next i text Matt and asked what the possibility of getting my $50 back for false diagnosis that cost me about 3hrs of my own labor and 30 more mins. from a real mechanic.

He instantly put up his guard, and was downright rude. Matt responded by telling me i was harrassing him and his family because it was a weekend. Told me i was very innopropriate. Next he said he would file harrasment charges with Boise PD Online, and told me to sue him. Fortunately we have an attourney in the family, so legal advise is free. Papers are being filed in small claims court, and will be served to this scammer. As a business owner myself i should have seen the red flags. Out of state license plates, does not accept anything but cash, cannot spell(what mechanic can), and drives a turd of a vehicle, that he bragged how he scammed an old lady out of, because she did not know what she had. It was her dead husbands car. We will hit him where it hurts(in the pocket).

#1 REBUTTAL Individual responds

When you refuse to follow policies and procedure your contract becomes null and void

AGAIN THE TRUTH IS TWISTED!

Yes I diagnosesed his vehicle. Factory procedure for the diagnoses that I was doing required me to remove the rear end of the vehicle and also to remove the fuel tank. a job that should take about 4-8 hours depending on your expertise level.

This is factory procedure. This Man asked me to go against factory procedure to which I refused to do. I told this man that if he wanted to cut up his own car and then call me back out I would be more than happy to finish the diagnoses.

Had he done this I would have finished the diagnoses according to factory procedure and if the issue was not at hand I would have then moved on to the next step in the process and eventually found out the problem.

Instead he cut his own car and finished his own diag.

I would like to point out this mans attitude towards mechanics in general. Did any one notice the nasty jab he made at mechanics??

He stated ("what mechanic can spell"). You know maybe this guys has issues with mechanics in genral and thought he could get one over on a independent mechanic. He obviously has nothing nice to say about us.

Bottom line is this. If you refuse to head my advice and follow my procedures then I will simply turn my back on you and move onto the next customer.

When you text me after hours. after you have allready been warned once within the week not to text me at 8:40 at night and you continue to text me well on into the night after being asked several times to leave me alone I will deffeniatly refuse to work with!! treat others how you want to be treated.

Now go file your lawsuit and have fun trying to squezze blood out of a turnip.
