Mediacom is the biggest joke of a service provider in world history. None of their hardware works, the cable box cannot separate an HD signal and send it to the TV, the box locks up at will, constantly, and then decides to reboot itself about every 15 minutes. If you try to select an HD channel you will find "This channel will be available shortly" - NO IT WON'T. This is the blue screen of death, next thing that happens is box locks up, you cannot scroll thru the guide, the guide blanks out with No Information Available for every channel. Then the box reboots itself whether you are lucky enough to be watching a channel, or not. Lose picture, box loses power, after about half a minute the screen comes back - maybe.
Now on to Mediacom's stellar service to fix their POS equipment in your living room. Here's what they have done to me about 6 times. Always, I have to talk to the 1-888 number and am are talking to a salesman in Chicago or some other faraway city. Can I get a local number? Hell No. The local office that dispatches the techs is WALK-IN ONLY. THEY DO NOT ANSWER A PHONE IN THE MEXICO BEACH OFFICE. So what happens? For my rental beach home, the tech picks up the key from my management company, there is nobody in the home when the tech arrives, and what he does is anybody's guess. The problems are blaring, obvious, no HD picture, lousy analog picture, box locking up, box rebooting, and the dumbazz says it's working fine and LEAVES. This has happened the last 3 TIMES IN A ROW. Incompetence, your name is Mediacom. Worst customer service of any U.S. company? Mediacom. Worst equipment that never performs its functions? MEDIACOM. Why this company is in business at all is anybody's guess. I cannot take it anymore, I will go with another provider.
