On July 8, 2008, I received check #0100361369 dated 6/16/2008 in the amount of $4982.40 from L & B Corporation in Burlington, NC (post-marked from Toronto, Canada on 7/2/2008). There was also a letter from Mega Lotto Plus to contact James Martin at (416) 831-6083, in order for me to "activate my check and start the claim process". Immediately, I became very suspicious. I dialed "411" to get a telephone numbers for both L & B and Mega Lotto Plus and unable to obtain numbers.

Next, I did managed to speak with James regarding the check, and informed me that it was okay to cash it, even though he could not explained why there is no listings for the Mega Lotto Plus nor L&B Corp.

Afterwards, I spoke with Juan Valez, a customer service representative at Wachovia and gave him the account number on the check (9:41 AM EST). Juan could not confirm if the account was valid or not and suggested for me to go directly at a Wachovia Branch.

As suggested, I went to the Wachovia Bank at 801 Pennsylvania Ave, NW - WDC 20004 - 202/637-2513. I spoke with the Branch Manager regarding the check and was advised to have a teller to scan it. The teller tried to scan the check and to no suprise, she was unable to scan it. She advised for to have them to send another check that is scannable.

At 12:22 this afternoon, I spoke with James Martin and explained to him that Wachovia Bank was unable to scan Check #0100361369. He informed me that he needs to transfer me to the "Accounts Department". James did a fake transfer call, but actually hung up the phone.

I hope the authorities can finally crack down people like James.

Please let me know if I may be of further assistance.

Respectfully,

Jasper
